Island Grill — Restaurant in Frisco

The fish tacos I ordered (as highly recommended), were not so great. The fish wasn't cod, salmon, or tuna - not sure what it was. The mango salsa was green and didn't taste like mango in the least. Coconut shrimp was good! Mojito and pinot grigio were good! Deck was lovely. Local radio station playing was great! I heard commercials for local upcoming events AND NeedToBreathe!! 3 members of the waitstaff came around. Each was personable and kind, but I had to flag down 2 outta 3. Didn't even get a napkin cuz I didn't want to flag them down again. 🤐 (It wasn't terribly busy - Tuesday afternoon 6 pm, 4 parties on rooftop.) I'd come back again for a cocktail...

Our food was good, but 4 shrimp on a shrimp po boy was pretty sad. The place was crowded and not much shade. Our server was very sweet. I think her name was Annabelle. This poor girl had 25 tables, many with 6 or or more people, and she was doing her best while they had 3 people delivering food. I think one was a manager, and he was useless. I get being short-staffed today, but they needed someone else taking orders, handling checks, etc. All he did was deliver a few orders and stand around griping because some customers had moved tables over a little to try to get out of the sun. We got our food a little over an hour after being seated, 30 minutes...

Great place for rum runners...as long time locals we always drop in here for their classic rum runners...today we stopped in...was told by the hostess to sit anywhere we wanted as we were only going to be there for 10 minutes...12 empty tables but was then chased out of the place by a waitress with tattoos covering her legs that this was only for people ordering food...tried explaining we we only there for 10 minutes or so...and so many empty tables but she was rude and obnoxious about the whole deal...think her name was Adolf...not completely sure...horrible waitress...but hey drinks and...
