2 and ½ stars. I call that painfully average. The service was good, but it was an off time, and the staff friendly. My salad greens were fresh, and the raspberry vinaigrette predictably commercial packets. I'm not a vegetarian, but for the last several months I've given up red meat, including chicken. My salad came with it by default. You have to ask for the meatless version. The menu did state that fact in smaller print, but at the distance my eyes didn't pick it out. I don't waste food, and I don't send things back for minor mistakes, sooo I ate it. It had the texture of chicken, but was amongst the most tasteless chicken I've ever had. My bar may be set a bit high, because I've had chicken in the native home range of chickens, Southeast Asia, many many times. Frankly all commercial American chicken is mediocre, it's the seasonings cooks use that give it a little bit more flavor. I've eaten at the Grand Haven Culvers branch several times when I ate red meat, and the hamburgers I've had are a baby step ahead of the average fast food burger. I don't miss them. The shrimp are to be avoided. Not because they're any worse than most, but because they are typical frozen, deep fried, and overcooked shrimp. Places like this are just meant to fill a void. As a chain restaurant Culver's food orginates in a central commissary. The only distinguishing features that can be attributed to an individual outlet are preparation and service. Are hot things hot, cold things cold, crisp things crisp, and promptly served? Adequate is my general impression, as I wasn't expecting...
Read moreI’m sad to write a negative review and as a whole I think Culver’s is one of the best in the country in terms of “fast food” team member culture. Second to maybe chick-fil-a. However I’ve experienced now 3 consecutive bad experiences at this location during the evening. The staff do not care about the quality of their work whatsoever. Please if you’re the owner of this franchise look into talking to members about caring about what they do and realize the impact their poor attitudes have on others. Tonight I arrived at 8:45pm, site says the location is open until 10pm and I was greeted with “sorry wa closed” while cars are still in the drive thru and it clearly not being closed inside. My previous two bad evening encounters included waiting 15 minutes for a mixer after 7 cars behind me went through and had already passed while receiving food and another time where a sunday was ordered and hardly any ice cream was in the cup.
I usually give a place a few chances before questioning management, but the night crew at this location needs help. I feel sorry for anyone else who’s had the same experiences as my family...
Read moreI wasn't going to write a review but in the past few months the service has been not the best. The food is great. However, you wait for a long time for your food and youngsters behind the registers Taking your orders, mess them up or don't pay close attention when you're trying to tell them what you want. I've noticed that several times. I drove through the drive-thru and ordered one kids A total was like 7:42. I gave them a $20.42 when I left. I got halfway home. I live quite a ways and I realize I never got my change back. I called them right when I realized it. The manager took my name and number and was going to send me two free kids meals and I never received the it's been a few weeks mow. What I notice about this place is they have way too many youngsters making it very hard for a manager To keep up with I'm sure. When I visit Grand Haven or Whitehall I do not have the problem that I see and encounter all the time at this one by the lakes Mall. It's very sad because this one is in a very busy area. Would like to see them get better at serving faster and getting the orders right because the...
