Captain D's — Restaurant in Gadsden

First off, the quality of the food from this location has decreased big time. It is still tasty but it used to taste a lot better. Also, you get a lot less food. My daughter loves their pebble ice. I asked if I may purchase a large cup of ice because she's prediabetic and isn't allowed to drink sodas. The lady, without telling me the price would be the same if I were to buy a drink, told me it would be over $3. For a cup of ICE. She didn't give me my drink that I ordered so I drove off without it. The time before that they had left out an order of cheese sticks I had purchased and they're phone is NEVER answered so even more money down the drain. The lady at the drive through doesn't smile, she doesn't speak A WORD to me unless she just absolutely has to. It has been the same lady at the drive through the past 3 times. Also, the last time I went through the drive through it took over 25 minutes from pulling up to leaving (no lie, no exaggeration) The food was cold, of course and to top it off, the lady, never cracked a smile and never apologized for the wait. Absolutely horrid service! They forgot an item on my order through the drive through, after an almost 15 min wait. Went in to ask for the item and the cook kept just looking at me while she told the counter person she put the item in the bag. I told her she was basically calling me a liar and she just gave me an eye roll and said she put it in the bag. The other person said oh here it is. I said so you not only basically called me a liar, but I just proved to you that it wasn’t in the bag. Asked for manager and she had a horrible attitude and just seemed to laugh it off like I was the one in the wrong. Well to begin: It was no one in restaurant but us as guests. I was excited about eating here because I heard great things. How do you get cold food when you are the only one’ there and we had to wait for our food? The food was greasy, salad was ice berg lettuce with 2 tomato’s no salad dressing. The hush puppies were cold. Okra was greasy and cold. Truly not what I expected. My final review, I would say be cautious. Greasy food makes me nauseous. I decided to send my review because I’m laying down feeling sick. That usually tells me the oil they cook with is not quality. The staff was friendly I will say.
