Goldie's Burgers — Restaurant in Gainesville

Food was completely fine. The wait for the food wasn’t terrible. The service was hands down the worst, though. We waited a good 10 minutes before the cashier even came to the front to take our order. After we ordered he didn’t give us our drinks so when I went back up he apologized and handed them over. He explicitly asked the kid if she wanted a sauce and when the food came out…no sauce. We waited in a very long line to ask for the sauce we paid for and he went to the back for a good 10 minutes then came up with somebody else’s food. We had to ask again for the sauce and he apologized then went to the back area for another 10 minutes before he came back up with somebody else’s order and a cup of sauce. It’s a stupid set up and I wish there was a way to just order yourself instead of relying on staff who clearly don’t want to be there. I understand everybody has off days, so I’m hopeful that’s all that happened here. $30 for 3 people isn’t a terrible price for food truck style meals but I won’t be rushing back here when Gainesville has so many other food options with much better service within walking distance or a short 5 minute...

Discovered Goldie's a few weeks ago while searching for the BEST burger in the GNV area. I originally planned to visit a different establishment on that day but they were closed - I ended up stopping by Goldie's instead... & I'm glad I did. Goldie's has entered my top 5. Great smashburger with a twist - sesame bun, really great speciality sauce - tasty/well seasoned patties. Also tried the shrimp bahn mi, that felt more like a po'boy. Great in concept but I personally think it would've been better with Po' boy ingredients.. and that's coming from a bahn mi lover. The fries were simple seasoned crinkle fries. I also love that they introduce special items that they serve from time to time. Overall I rated the overall experience a 9.5 only 2 burger spots were rated higher on my list. John, Adam, and Gary kicked a** for us today! My wife and I stopped by for the first time. We come to visit our son for all home game weekends and whenever else possible. We’ve been by and seen Goldie’s Burgers several times and finally stopped for lunch just now. We asked John for recommendations and he didn’t miss! Adam and Gary in the back came through big time! My wife had the cheeseburger ATW and I had the double double ATW. The smash burgers HIT THE SPOT! We had the fries, broccoli, and tots, and while the tots were my favorite (nice and crispy) they were all great! We were also surprised by the cleanliness of an open air type establishment.
