Read moreLunch at Fisherman's warf was amazing today. The service was wonderful kind and very pleasant and informative. Chastity was funny, and so efficient with taking care of us. We started with the fried calamari that was lighted coated in a well seasoned, yet not to salty batter lightly golden fried and tender, set atop a bed of fried onion strings served with a side of nicely chunky marinara that added the just right balance of acid. I added a Mai Tai to my order if you like Meyers dark rum and OJ then this is a nice tropical treat for you. My sweetie had the char grilled shrimp platter and since he's not a large veggie eater he substituted the veggies for fries, the shrimp were fresh and sweet and just the perfect amount of seasoning added to them that you could taste each flavor profile with each bite. He also enjoyed the rice pilaf with the fresh diced tomatoes mixed into it. I had the grilled fisherman's platter so I could sample a few items. It had grilled lightly seasoned fish filet, perfectly pan seared tender and juicy, crab cake and even though it was a good stuffing full of flavor it really felt like it missed the spot on crab meat and was a bit too moist. Great flavor just would have used it as a stuffing rather than a crab cake. 2 shrimp kisses which I always get here because it is sweet shrimp, yummy melty cheese all wrapped in bacon. No I did not leave out the jalapeños didn't have to. They don't come in these kisses which is a nice treat. Char grilled shrimp perfect, tender juicy and just the right amount os seasoning dusted across the shrimp as they were prepared. Yummy steamed veggies with butter and rice pilaf myself. All tasty, just ask for the carrots in the veggies medley to be cooked a few mins before the rest are added so they are a bit cooked. And the dessert, what can I say rooter bread pudding was above my expectations in appearance as well as flavor. Thank you again for making oir anniversary lunch very...
Read moreWe were downtown on the Strand and decided that this would be a nice place to eat. Boy was I wrong. The pictures posted looked good and that is about it. It is a total tourist trap ! Very pricey and the food is not even mediocre. We walked in and you could smell a distinct smell of burned something food. Got seated rather quick. Our waitress was nice but the way she talked and addressed things were not so much, more annoying than anything else. My party ordered fresh Oysters on the half shell. They looked dried out as if they had been previously shucked and just placed on ice in a cooler waiting for someone to order. I had the Shrimp scampi which was the worst no flavor meal I had in a very long time. No garlic taste at all could have used lemin juice and salt and pepper, it had tomatoes and mushrooms, That normally does not go into shrimp scampi. I get some places cook things differently but this place kicked it up a full notch. My partner had the gumbo, there was no sausage in it unless it was finely chopped and hardly any rice. And it had the burned taste what we smelled as we first came in. From where we were sitting we could see the kitchen and make line. Most of the food was already ready made and sitting under heat lamps, and just being plated as the orders came in, only things I saw being actually fresh cooked to order was fried stuff. Other than that I really didn't see anyone cooking. For as pricey as this place was I would expect EVERYTHING to be made fresh. Unfortunately the meal did not sit very well either. Woke up a few times and..... well you know ! And that is why I needed to get this rating out of my mind and head at 0100 in the middle of the night! And I love food and eat all over. This was clearly one of the most expensive worst places. But the view is nice if you sit...
