The Shoppes on Postoffice — Attraction in Galveston

I would give zero stars if I could. I went on Good Friday to browse. There were four women sitting at a table crafting and drinking wine. They looked my way but didn’t greet me. After I looked around for a few minutes, one of the women (short, heavy-set, dark hair, senior) went and stood near the counter. Another one asked her, “What are you doing?” Her response was, “I have to watch her.” So, I turned around to exit the shop. I have been here a few times, but was disappointed last night. Went again for ArtWalk. After my friend tipped, the worker was complaining publicly about how ArtWalk was just a bunch of college students [that don't buy anything]. So unprofessional. ArtWalk is for exposure and getting people in the door. If you don't want to participate in ArtWalk, you don't have to provide drinks and/or open your shop during the event.

Also, some of the art work looks like it is AI generated.

That being said, there are some very cool pieces there, so I don't want to potentially harm sales of the artists themselves. But shame...

This is a great venue with something for everyone! I am happy to be a part of this talented group. There is a wide variety of art, as well as home accessories, antiques and stylish clothing, including cork purses and wallets. Art Walk is fun filled with talented entertainment, wine and smiling people enjoying the evening and meeting the artists and owners. Hope you get to stop by.
