Maddi Mae's Café & Creamery — Restaurant in Gatlinburg

My wife and I went to Gatlinburg Tn. on the Thanksgiving Holiday. Came across this cute coffee shop and ordered coffee for my wife. I don't drink coffee but she loves it. She always drinks coffee without sugar. No Exceptions. I told the gentlemen at the counter that my wife wanted a medium coffee with no sugar just cream. My wife also repeated the same thing. I pay for the coffee, we walk out and sit in front the coffee shop. My wife takes a sip of the coffee and it's sweet. The guy added sugar to it. Went inside to complain, he said we ordered sugar. Absolutely not true!! Told me I had to buy another coffee if I wanted it without sugar. I will always gladly pay for another coffee if it is my mistake anywhere anytime. This was not my mistake. I was gonna let it go but I went back inside and gave the lady at the counter their coffee back. My wife couldn't drink anyway. They might as well dump it. Would've given one star instead of two but maybe the guy was...

I walked in just to get a bottled soda. The employee was making two coffees so I waited at the register. It was probably 3 or 4 mins. She had her back turned away from the customers the whole time. I assumed when she got finished with the drinks she would check me out. But I was wrong, without speaking to me explaining she had to go to the back or something. She never said a word, she didn’t even look to see if she had customers and disappeared to the back. I continued to wait and wait other customers walked in. One finally got tired of waiting and left. I was there for 10 mins or more just trying to buy a soda. I eventually gave up and walked out. How is it okay to ignore customers? I probably won’t go back which is a disappointment because I am a repeat customer who always stops by when I’m in the area. Can’t believe I just got ignored for something that would have taken a...

Cute little shop tucked away in the back of the village. Ice cream was delicious! The staff was amazingly nice and patient with the kids making that one of the reasons I’d I go back. Prices are fair but I’d say above average for a typical vacation town ice cream shop. But the quality of the product was good making it a fair value.

Edit: The establishment responded to my post and said that their prices are very comparable if not better than most in town. Since our exposure to other places was limited it may have been unfair for me to comment on price. I was just comparing to other vacation towns we’ve been to which may not be a fair comparison.
