Mayfield Dairy Bar — Restaurant in Gatlinburg

Horrible experience! I have never experienced racism like that before. My friends and I who were visiting decided that we wanted a funnel cake mind you we are African Americans so when we went inside not ONE employee greeted us or asked what were we looking for. So we thought they at least 2 of the guys were deaf so we asked him a question and he answered by pointing and not using his mouth. So my sister and friend still ended up ordering a funnel cake and when he hit total he pointed to the register for them to see the total not even opening his mouth once again. So as we were leaving a Caucasian guy walked pass and the guys in the store were trying to get his attention by waving him in the store. Once the guy walked in all the EMPLOYEES clearly asked him " what's up man" at that point my friends and I were LIVID!!! I will NEVER IN MY LIFE GIVE THIS PLACE ANY OF MY MONEY. OH and we made sure the next customers that walked through the door whom so happen to be AFRICAN AMERICANS know exactly what happened and they turned right around. Recently we popped in during the evening for fruit smoothies, and ordered an assortment of (5) flavors. The guys behind the Mayfield counter were hustling, and very customer service minded workers! Great job, guys! Upon receiving my drink, I noticed it looked smoothiesque inside the cup, however it never seemed to come out of the cup as something other than a non-smoothie liquid drink from the first sip. (I tired adjusting the straw to get iced smoothie, but it was repetitious and more difficult to do as we walked the strip. So the drink was consumed as mostly liquid.) The flavor was 'good', but not good enough to really want to try again. While I wouldn't order another Mayfield smoothie, I might give it another chance with Mayfield ice cream instead....

I use to only buy mayfield ice cream because it was the best ever. However, when you started using high fructose me & my extended family had to quit purchasing it because so many of us are allergic to it. Please give us a choice ?? And the ingredients in the sugar free is all the worse. I understand their are diabetics out there but u wish you would go back to real sugar. We'd b willing to pay a higher price for it if we could just get your ice cream in real sugar. I've wanted a banana pop sycle for years but can't find ANYONE who makes them without high fructose.
