Summary: Fun place to go for the price/activities, don't let the dated feeling of the building scare you away. Staff was very nice.
Fort Fun had two do it all passes, we chose the one that was $20/pp and included 9 activities (you could do all 9--bumper cars, laser tag, 3D theater, motion ride/simulator, laser maze, blacklight golf, two outdoor mini golf courses and gem mining--or double up on some--except for gem mining which is allowed only once). For $3-4 more you can do all the above, plus get a souvenir golf ball and 100 tickets for toys (like the ones at chuck e cheese) . We opted for the $20 pass over the pick any six ($16) because the "passes" allowed us to return within 10 days of the original purchase date and do any of the activities we didn't finish (big selling point for us). Any individual activity on it's own was just over $11.
We started with bumper cars, it was a small track but it was a lot of fun and it was inside. We then moved on to laser tag. We had a some other kids join in on our group which made it more challenging than just us against our two and the arena was larger than I would have thought. After laser tag we played one of the two outdoor mini golf courses (supposedly the easier one), the courses were a little dated but nicely kept up and playing mini golf in the shade was a nice touch! I liked having a view from the hill of downtown. The 8 y/o pooped out on us early on golf and our 7 y/o did ok (they both have the attention span of gnats and aren't the greatest mini golfers) so we skipped doing the second outdoor course and the blacklight course. We moved on to the laser maze which was in a separate building. Both kids seemed interested at first, but got scared when it was their turn and the maze itself seemed to be pretty quick (tag three lights to stop the clock). The 8 y/o complained of the smell from the fog machine. We went back inside to do bumper cars again then decided to watch the 3D/4D movie. The theater was small, but set up nicely, IMAX style (note- not an actual IMAX theater) and the shark movie was ok and just kinda left you hanging. Because we had to head back to town for the 8 y/o's swim meet, we decided to do one more activity and settled on gem mining which I think was the highlight of both kids' day. Each of us got a big bag of dirt that contained multiple gems/crystals. It was a nice activity to finish on, especially on a hot day. And we have two more activities that we can use when we come back to Gatlinburg sometime next week.
On a side note, during the laser maze we were chatting with some people who had done the motion ride/simulator and they all advised against it saying it was a bit "rough". They also said the blacklight mini golf was only 9...
Read moreWONDERFUL service and great fun! My husband and I waited until the last day of our trip to come here because we were so busy, and we got the package that pets you do 6 games along with one escape room. We tried to do the haunted escape room first, and chickened out and had to leave it because it was super nerve wracking, especially when you're a little claustrophobic. We felt terrible, but the staff was SO sweet, and they allowed us to switch and do another escape room at no charge. These were some of the best escape rooms with the highest quality props and architecture that I've ever seen! Really awesome, and highly recommended. The games were incredibly fun! We went when it was super cold outside (20s or 30s), so the outdoor golf area was frozen over, but we played 18 anyway. It was beautiful and high-quality, and the perfect difficulty level to be fun as well as challenging. Really well maintained. The black light golf was also really fun, but I did miss the other 9 holes since that one is only 9. Still it was beautifully decorated and the spinners added a lot! The laser tag game as well as the one where you hit buttons on a wall (forgot the name) were really fun, too. My favorite was the laser grid, though. Hands down! They were very slow the day we went and we were the only people there, so the guy behind the counter kindly gave us several chances to do the laser grid. We more than got our money's worth, and honestly we felt this place had so much to offer and was really well-priced for all you get. It was great fun and the employees are so sweet, and I highly...
Read moreWhile staying downtown gatlinburg, my friends and i wanted to find an activity that we would all enjoy doing together, so we came here. when we walked in, the staff seemed too annoyed to greet us. we haven’t been there before and we’re confused as to how the passes worked and the staff wasn’t helping at all so when i got the paper explaining the different pass options, they got irritated with me. how else was I supposed to know what’s available if they weren’t willing to show me what i am able to do? our first activity was laser tag and the young lady who helped us acted as if she didn’t care to be there. the older lady was very rude to us. we were still unsure as to how the game credits worked and no one bothered to help us. obviously we figured it out in our own. the activities were very fun and there was a lot to do for the price we paid. the staff made it not enjoyable with their rude attitudes. one guy even got angry that someone put a box in the trash can and he hit it with a stick he was carrying, causing my friends and i to jump as he yelled about it. also the guy who ran the mini golf caught an attitude when we grabbed the “wrong” ball. i don’t know what put everyone in a bad mood that day but it made it a lot less fun than expected. would definitely go again but not if that staff...
