Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Georgia

My Mother and I met for lunch at this location near her. We were "greeted" by Sherry, who was very gruff and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience. Being born and raised in the south both my Mother and I felt Sherry had no business working behind the register and greeting customers in a restaurant that promotes southern hospitality and graciousness. Perhaps Sherry would be more of an asset in the kitchen and not behind the counter greeting customers. Or, she could put in an application at Jersey Mike's! Additionally, we stated that we were eating there but wanted to purchase one of the "to go" containers so that my Mother could take some to friends that were going through some family health issues...well Sherry marked our whole order as "Take Out" and we waited and waited in their dining room as others behind us were getting their food. So, I approached one of the "runners" bringing out food to customers and she stated thay they were holding it as takeout because they thought we had already been there and had gotten our food????? Of course this made no sense but I wasn't about to engage and explain that her statement didn't add up. She asked if I wanted her to "plate" our food and I said yes please as we were dining in. She came by and apologized and gave us a card that granted us a free "chick special" but only for this location. I gave this to my Mother since she lives in the area and I don't intend on returning to this location. The location near me certainly does a better all around job of serving their customers. I was really looking forward to my first time visit here on my birthday (7/7) I had planned a whole day of shopping by Mall of Georgia and to dine in at Chicken Salad Chick. Unfortunately, I did not get that opportunity because every table and seat was taken. There was nowhere to sit and there is construction going on next door (maybe another restaurant?) and the next door business has this horrible, nauseating industrial chemical smell when you walk by, and as soon as you walked into Chicken Salad Chick you could smell the exact same smell. We stood in line to order, but kept noticing the terrible industrial smell. The smell was so awful my dine in companion had to take migraine medication after we left because she instantly got a migraine smelling whatever odor is coming from next door. I hope to visit on another occasion when more dining is available and the construction next door...

I've wanted to try this place for a long time. I know they are franchised and you will probably get a different experience at every location but the food should be the same. I had a scoop of Fruity Fran and that was the smallest scoop I've ever seen. It came on a plate with one pickle spear, a lettuce leaf, some crackers, and a little cookie that ended up being the best part of the whole meal. The chicken salad tasted good but it was such a small portion that I was still hungry when I was done eating. My husband had the chicken salad BLT sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese. He enjoyed the sandwich, but again, the amount of chicken salad was very small. The prices are high, but they are high every where these days. I will try it again at another location and hope that the service will be friendlier. The servers did not seem to care what they looked like and were not...
