I 9 times out of 10 love going here. The food I'd more often than not very delicious. The only only thing I've really experienced a dissatisfaction with is the fries not being "fresh" as in they are barely warm and soggy. As far as cleanliness it is usually quite kept up. The bathrooms are usually satisfactory occasionally the toilets need cleaning and the paper needs replacing for the most part though it's nice. As far as the dinning area, the floors are clean the tables are usually wiped down good and the condiments are full and neatly placed in the baskets. As for the servers most of them are very attentive and pleasant. However unfortunately the server we had today was not so pleasant and did not really seem to care about anything. She didn't even write down our order and said she had been doing this for many years and could remember everything. She did not! I had ordered a bacon steak burger off of the 4 for $4 menu which came with fries and slaw I opted for double fries instead of the slaw and asked for no tomatoes or mustard she brought me apple sauce and did my burger still had everything on it. When I asked her if she could fix it she said that it would take a while because they would have to remake it. I was in no hurry since I was visiting with my best friend and her mom and asked her to please remake it. However when she brought it out the second time it was still wrong. They had taken the tomatoes off but instead of no mustard put extra mustard. When I mentioned that they had put the mustard on there she grabbed the plate and started towards the kitchen. I called to her and just told her it was fine that I would just scrape it off. She was just altogether not very pleasant. Despite her rude behavior the food was still very good. We arrived at 10:45, they were not busy, and before sitting down we asked if they were still serving breakfast and we were told, "Yes, it stops at 11:00." So we sat down, figured out what we were going to order, waited for our server, then she came to our table, asked us how we were doing and then said, "Oh, you have breakfast menus, we're not serving breakfast anymore" So I said, "We asked before sitting down and [he] said you were. That's the only reason we're here. " She said, "Let me check," she yelled to someone behind the soda area asking about serving breakfast, I never heard the other person answer, but our server then just turned around and said, "Yeah, we're not serving breakfast, it stops at 11:00" I looked at my phone and it was 11:00" I would have normally said something, especially since the restaurant was not busy, our server had 2 tables that she was checking on, and we waited 15 minutes before anyone ever came to our table, but our server was already in an "I don't want to be here" mood and was not trying to hide it. So we left. I've been going to this Steak 'n Shake for 21 years and have watched the service and quality of food decline at a steady rate. I think this was it for me. My mom and grandmother have even stopped coming to this location due to the service. French fries are cold, coleslaw is runny, burger buns are dry. Read moreWorsttttt experience at a Steak ‘n Shake (I have been to different locations more times than I can count!) or really ANY fast food type restaurant that I have EVER experienced! I think it was mainly due to being understaffed, but I ended up waiting over 45 minutes for A MILK SHAKE!!! And I wasn’t the only person. And this was after being told that the drive thru was closed, at the window and having to then go inside to get my milkshake, at around 1:00am. I wasn’t the only person. There were a lot of folks there just waiting and waiting. And the whole time the employees were bickering back and forth and yelling and it seemed like maybe some one had just gotten let go? And that’s why they were understaffed and what they were arguing about.
And after waiting a good 30 minutes, I was told they didn’t have the stuff needed to make the shake I ordered 30 minutes earlier. So I had to order something else and then wait another 10-15 minutes to get it.
It was just terrible and not at all what I am used to experiencing at other locations and even the couple times I’d been to this one previously. But this was not the first time that my experience was not good, at this particular location. I just feel Bad for the owner of this location, because it’s not their fault, it’s the people they have trusted with their business.
