As Madeline Kahn said in Young Frankenstein, "It's twoo, it's twoo!"
Ji Bei Chuan had been on my short list for a while so my only excuse for not getting to this highly rated venue sooner is laziness coupled with too much work and a few great restaurants that are closer. I'd also wanted to go with a number of people so that we could try a number of dishes, and I got my wish this evening.
The one guy in the front of the house was very accommodating to our party of 5 adults, two young boys, and their toddler sister, pushing 3 tables together and providing one of a few high chairs. Everyone loved their rice noodle soups, from mild tomato with brisket that was half-finished and the leftover brought home, and the moderately spicy "sauerkraut" (actually Chinese fermented cabbage), to the more spicy but far from overly so Mala Spice broth with beef slices (finished except for some broth, and we're looking forward to having other noodle soups (particularly their renowned Supreme Fish Maw and Chicken) and dry noodle dishes when we return, as we plan to do regularly, and we enjoyed the spicy Baby Octopus Celery Salad appetizer that had a lot of flavors going on, but every time that we return we will order the flavorful, thin, nicely oily scallion pancake appetizer and, lastly but bestly, the extraordinary Braised Pork Intestine appetizer, which was not spicy at all, but was extraordinarily tender without being soft, and wonderfully flavorful without any of the flavor they you might be afraid of when someone speaks of intestines, e.g. chitlins, for...
Read moreI recently stopped by JiBeiChuan Noodle House solo and found myself pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was quiet when I arrived (4pm) but the space felt warm, open, and inviting. It gives off that “cute, spacious hole-in-the-wall” vibe that always makes a meal feel more personal.
I ordered the Spicy Mala Beef Shank and a Thai Iced Tea, and honestly, both were top-tier in flavor and portion. The beef was tender and rich, the broth had just the right kick for my personal preference (actually spicy), and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The Thai tea was smooth, creamy, and balanced not overly sweet like some places tend to serve it.
What really stood out, besides the quality of the food, was the service. The gentleman working that day was kind, patient, and happy to answer my questions about the menu. That kind of customer care really elevates the experience.
For around $30 total, I left full, satisfied, and already planning my next visit. If you’re into bold flavors, comforting noodle soups, and supporting low-key local spots, this place is 100% worth...

We tried almost all their dishes here and their tomato noodle soup with beef is the best here if you love soup with a lot flavors. This is a franchise based in Suzhou China.
If you want something more light and not too flavourful it would be the fish maw soup.
For light spicy go for mala spicy soup.
The staff are kind and sweet, this is a small hidden gem since I don’t see much people coming in and out.
They had a stamp card if you get 10 bowls you get one free. We had one before and it filled but they said you have to come in the “next time” for a free bowl which was a bit disappointing? I never seen a business do this with any stamp cards like this. Mind as well go out and go back in for that free bowl to go 😂
Otherwise due to that customer service being a regular was a bit kind of an eh experience for us knowing we spend almost 200-250 for a full family meal with 8 people they couldn’t redeem that one bowl as we are regulars. It made us rather put our money elsewhere to a...
