So I recently visited Gettysburg and while there took a bus tour which was absolutely amazing. After an hour of the tour we took a break and were told you could get refreshments in this establishment but should only order from their bus tour menu as there would not be enough time. Unfortunately I was the last person in line as to assure that all of the boys got what they needed. When I got to the register I placed my order for 'a drink' and was promptly told you cannot order that there is not enough time? When I asked the young lady how long will it take to make it she responded with about 2 minutes but again told me there is not enough time. I explained that it was going to take at least another 10 minutes for the bus to get loaded up with the new group and was told again no. I then placed all the items I was going to purchase back where they belong and while leaving listened to the teenage girls laughing about how disappointed I looked as well as the owner smiling at me from behind the counter. I returned to the tour bus where we sat for another 15 minutes in 95 degree heat waiting for other people to board from a different group.i recommend bringing your own cold refreshments

  1. terrible prices.
  2. mediocre refreshments at best
  3. less than helpful and rude staff.

I would recommend this establishment to nobody!

PS: this review is coming from someone who...

We really wanted to try this place today. Reviews looked great and I love to patronize local coffee shops while traveling. When we walked inside we were the only customers at about 4 or 430 in the afternoon, coffee smelled wonderful. We were waiting near the order counter looking at the menu. After about 4 or 5 min we decided what we wanted and started towards the girl who approached the register to place our order. Suddenly, a large crowd came into the shop. The girl told us sorry, you have to move aside a bus just pulled in and I have to take their orders. Then she gestured toward the incoming crowd and preceded to take orders. I was appalled! We walked out!! How is an order from a bus any different from a walk in customer? Additionally, as noted above we were the only people in line! One order couldn't have been taken before the crowd? When we walked out we saw a double- decker Gettysburg tour bus in the parking lot! This bus was not even there when we walked into the shop. Sadly, we patronized the Starbucks .5 miles away instead. This is not a way to run a business. A customer is a customer. Apparently your relationship with the tour bus company superseded...

Response to owner below: Aware of the 10min break- my point is that we were there from the BEGINNING of the break thru to the end and did not get serviced, understand? That is a problem. What's even more astonishing is all we wanted was coffee and we never got serviced. I think maybe 2 people out of the whole bus tour were served. Literally. We were on a bus tour, and the bus tour encouraged us to buy a snack or drink at this place. Only one Barrista working and she was quick to try and shy us away from purchasing anything. By the time we got to her, the bus was ready to leave and she said we had to get back on the bus quickly which definitely signaled to us that she did not want to make whatever we would order which was only from a limited bus menu.

Also, it was 2pm and all milkshakes sold out but we couldn't order that anyway if it was available because the bus people had a limited menu.

Overall, just terrible customer service experience as we were basically told to turn away. So we did. Very...

Great coffee shop near downtown Gettysburg that has a wide selection of fun drinks, especially their seasonal flavors. Their spooktacular fall flavors are delicious with my favorites being the grey ghost latte and the cozy casper latte. They have non-dairy milk alternatives (oat and almond milk), which are offered at no extra cost, which is quite nice! I also really like their baked treats that change from time to time. Their Cookies n Cream cake was unbelievably tasty and not too sweet. They also serve either plain or everything bagels with hummus or cream cheese spreads, but I wouldn't recommend their bagels and their spreads are not house-made, but one should go there for their coffee! The staff and service are impeccable with friendly and fast service. There is a great dining room to work in with free WiFi. They also sell a wide range of DS backs like Mister Ed's Old Fashioned Candy, locally baked macarons, honey, earrings and other small gifts.

In a year of visiting cafes from Nashville to Nova Scotia, I have to say Bantam is a standout for its eco friendliness, not to mention its great coffee, fine bagels, handmade local pastries and cozy space. On the eco front: Ceramic mugs, plates, cream pitcher and free standing pastries, not plastic wrapped (except for cookies, brownies). They also offer a substantial discount when you bring your own mug. On the quality front, they roast and sell their beans on site and you can tell the difference. No coffee shop I've visited has purged plastic and other avoidable waste completely, but this one comes the closest in my experience. So it gets our (first) "GreenCup" mark.

Really good coffee and it shows. Longer lines waiting to order and take a bit of time to get your drinks. They do have pastries available but sell out quickly. The only reason I give for stars is because there is very limited room to stand in line and more limited seating. They only have one girl making the coffee and one taking orders. They have more space and need to make better use of the shop. I would go again, but would expect the wait this time.
