Gettysburg Miniature Soldiers — Local services in Gettysburg

During a visit to Gettysburg this morning I had an opportunity to visit Gettysburg Miniature Soldiers. What an amazing experience!

To begin, as my girlfriend and I were entering the store we received a warm greeting from John Zabawa. If I understood him correctly, he's the store owner's son. Not only did he make us feel welcome, he allowed us to take our time exploring the vast collection of military miniatures and collectibles. It's not an exaggeration when I say I could have spent hours there.

John was knowledgeable of the items for sale, the various manufacturers, and military history itself. He was exceptionally helpful to me as I had stopped actively collecting 54mm military miniatures in 2006, and I was not familiar with a particular manufacturer that is fairly new to the market.

While I purchased only one item today, I plan to make this shop my main source of supply as I renew this hobby.

The store is spotless, neat, organized, and comfortable. And whether you're a collector or simply someone interested in military (or world) history, it is well worth your time to stop in and experience...

On a stop in Gettysburg, We came across this shop and took a look inside, it was amazing to say the least. The way everything is displayed was perfect. Each case had a number of figures in different timelines from Biblical times to modern day. The figures are highly detailed and perfectly done with every detail possible. The owner, John Zabawa is very knowledgeable about everything they have and what is and isn't available from manufacturers, he is also very personable and we enjoyed talking with him about the hobby the store which he co-owns with his dad and about the Gettysburg area in general. He told us about the different people and companies that have been there to purchase items for museums, movies and personal collections. I highly recommend stopping there or making it a destination trip if you are into collecting historical figures and items. I have been wanting to visit this store for 5 or 6 years, ever since I saw them on line. I live an hour and half away and last week had the opportunity to drive there. WOW … OMG … fantastic ! I felt like a kid again, spent about 45 minutes there. I am going back very soon, alone, so I can spend more time. I enjoy WW l figures and they have a ton of them !!!! I did buy a few.
