First and foremost this hotel has an amazing location. You literally back up to the battlefield. Very close to all the sites included with that. Downtown is a quick drive (and easy walk for those able). There are a couple fast food and sit down restaurants within a 5 minute walk. A bar on premises, and a brewery across the street (didn’t go to either). Plenty more in town. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else just because of the location.
The room was a little bit older, but everything was clean and in working order. Fridge, microwave, plenty of outlets. Beds and pillows were comfortable. A couple chairs so you’re not stuck just in the bed. One minor (anlbeit odd) complaint was everything in the room seems low. The dresser was low, therefore the tv on it was kind of hard to see while laying down. The toilet felt extremely low, and the sink also felt a little low.
The grounds were well kept. There was a guy we saw both mornings sweeping the parking lot. It was a little chilly, but the outdoor pool looked amazing. A nice 9 foot deep pool would’ve been great. Most hotels have small pools, not here. The indoor pool looked small, but I really wish we could’ve taken advantage of the outdoor one.
Parking is assigned per room. I could see this being a challenge if it was crowded. We have a midsize 7 seater suv, the people beside us had a big truck. They took up some of our spot, so we took up some of the one beside us. Luckily the spot beside us wasn’t taken. We would’ve had to have asked for an alternative if so.
Staff was all friendly. The check in lady was great. She explained the layout of the hotel and was just overall very friendly. As was the gentleman that swept the morning lot in the morning and the breakfast attendant.
Breakfast was the normal. Waffles, eggs, sausages, toast, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, juice. At first I didn’t like the idea of having to walk the whole way across the parking lot to go to breakfast. However it added to the ambiance of the area dining in a home that was built in 1880 (I’m almost certain that’s what the sign said).
We really enjoyed our stay here. The room wasn’t the most updated in the world, but it had everything we needed. It was clean, well priced, and extremely convenient to everything we...
Read moreThe Quality Inn was a good place to stay. Considering it is in the heart of the more touristy section of Gettysburg, it was reasonably priced, about $150 per night. We stayed in late September. I would definitely stay here again. I thought it a good value for my money. The motel has indoor and outdoor pools and an exercise room, but we didn’t use those so I exclude them from my review. Here are some pros and cons. ||PROS|Location. The motel is within easy walking distance of several food places of varying price, including fast food & ice cream, also souvenir shops, the battlefield bus tour, some museums, the National Cemetery and The Dobbin House, Gettysburg’s best restaurant. ||Staff. Check-in/check-out was seamless and the front desk clerks were friendly and helpful.||Parking. We had a ground floor corner room. I especially liked that the parking spaces were numbered to our room and we could park right in front of our door. ||Cleanliness. The room and bathroom were really clean. I compliment the housekeeping staff.||Space. The room was larger than I expected and was equipped with a small microwave, refrigerator, tv and coffee machine. The carpet was in good shape. We had two queen beds and they were very comfortable with soft sheets and ample pillows. The AC worked well. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom, and a hair dryer. The water was hot and there was good water pressure. There’s no closet, but the room did have an area to hang up our coats and good clothes. There was a dresser with drawers for more storage. There were ample outlets and USB ports to charge our devices.||Breakfast. The Breakfast Cottage was very nice. The food was your typical “free” hotel food. Nothing notable. If it’s not your style, there’s a Friendly’s close by.||CONS|Location. If you have a room towards the road, be aware that you will hear traffic noise. ||Space. The bathroom was very small, and badly in need of renovation. It’s why I didn’t give this motel five stars. Yellow tile, some of which were cracked, including the sink. A little bit of peeling wallpaper. There was very little counter space for toiletries. There was no safety bar in the tub/shower but there was a non-slip mat in the tub. The tv was small for the size...
Read moreI stayed at the Quality Inn Gettysburg Battlefield on August 13, 2024, and have been a frequent guest over the past three years. Unfortunately, this recent experience has left me extremely disappointed with the hotel's customer service.||After checking in and out, the hotel placed a hold on my credit card for the amount of my stay, which is standard practice. However, the hold did not drop off after a few days. Upon contacting my bank, I was informed that the hold would remain until September 12, 2024, unless the hotel faxed a request to release it.||The following week, during another stay, I brought this issue to the front desk. The lady I spoke with assured me that hold should have dropped off the night I checked out, but it hadn't. I explained what my bank had told me, and she said she would have the person responsible call me. I never received a return call.||The week after, I called the hotel again and left a message for the same person who handles these issues. Once again, I received no return call.||On September 3rd, while in the area, I stopped by the hotel to follow up in person. The same front desk lady took down my information again and told me the person I needed to speak with wouldn't be back until Monday. I mentioned that my calls have never been returned, but she insisted "She returns all her calls." I responded, "No, I'm still waiting for this issue to be resolved, and no one has called me back."|No call back from the visit on September 3rd.||I am frustrated and tired of trying to get this resolved. The hold will eventually expire in a few days but this lack of communication and disregard for customer service has soured my view of this hotel. Although I used to enjoy staying here, I will be looking for other accommodations in the future that offer better...
