Ben & Jerry’s — Restaurant in Gig Harbor

The service was as good as you can expect from a place that was understaffed and very busy on a Sunday afternoon. The girl at the counter was polite and fast. They had run out of whipped cream and didn't have enough employees to do anything about it. (Not blaming Ben & Jerry's for this. Since covid, it seems like no one has enough employees) The bathroom seemed clean, which is a hard thing to keep up with. My Cherry Garcia sundae with a brownie didn't taste much like cherries, and the brownie was hard. I would go back and try something else, but I'd skip the brownie. As a side note: There were 6 of us there for my nephew's birthday. There was room for us all to sit, but conversation was difficult because the refrigeration units are LOUD! I ordered a birthday cake from the Gig Harbor location. The clerk opened the box and right away we noticed that the frosting piping around the top of the cake was wavy and a section had slipped off the cake. The clerk said if we wanted it fixed, we would have to wait 20 minutes for her to fix it. We didn't have time to wait so we took the cake. That night we took it out of the box and noticed the horrible job! The frosting piping that slid down was almost touching the bottom frosting. It was uneven all the way around. It was wide in the front and narrow in the back. It looked like a grade school kid decorated it. It was embarrassing to show this to our guests. This cake cost us $50!

It’s funny how I’m often surprised when people greet you coming through the door with a smile. And genuinely seem to be interested and happy to serve you. I love this is happening in this particular store. Also, if you’ve never had Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, I have to say I think it’s probably the best ice cream out there. There’s a reason why it is why it’s got so bigin grocery stores and everything else. But there’s nothing like going in for a scoop with your friends and family. Don’t expect supercheap ice cream, that’s not really what this place is about. But it’s more about the experience and having fun with friends and family.
