Read moreI deliver for doordash on my days off from my full time job. And part time volunteer work for church. I went in today and had already given the restaurant a little time to start the order. I proceeded to go inside and no one was at the front. The bartender I eventually had to chase down after 5 min of waiting with no one helping. She stated she would get someone which she infact did. However the people that came out to help were clearly coming from the back gossiping or "hanging out" the man in the white jacket was completely rude and unprofessional. The woman did check on the order but it was going to take a little more time. The man tried to start an argument and make a scene with customers right there and a woman and her young children. He kept trying to bait and berate me when I stated it had taken some time already and that I might have to leave because it was taking so long after a near 15 min wait by the time I left. As I was walking out the door because of his behavior he then started trying to bully me. I turned around and told him he was being extremely unprofessional and left. Whoever hired this man needs to reign him in. We are service providers but not servants. If I choose to cancel an order that's my right as a driver. I don't expect nor deserve to be treated like a second class citizen because of ur short comings. And clearly the owner whom I've been told is quite abusive to employees, doesn't understand how doordash works. When we decline an order it doesn't cancel it. It sends it to the next person. If no one wants to deliver it after then it gets cancelled. We are independent contractors not ur slaves. U can't mistreat people because you feel superior to them. It makes you actually quite...
Read moreMoctezuma’s Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar is a small family-owned Washington restaurant chain with 4 locations. Arturo Garcia opened the first restaurant in Tacoma in 1978. He opened the second restaurant in Gig Harbor, which is the one my parents introduced me to, and that I have dined at over the years. The other two locations are Tukwila and Silverdale. The restaurants are now jointly owned by Arturo, his son Bernie Garcia, and Bernie’s mother and sister, Magdalena Garcia and Maribel Arias. Bernie Garcia took over as president in 2005. This business has won a number of awards over the years. Moctezuma’s is a favorite for both locals and visitors.
My parents retired to Fox Island, Washington, in 1990. Fox Island is next to Gig Harbor. Montezuma’s was one of my mother‘s favorite restaurants. I visited with her many times over the years. Now that she’s gone, I don’t go as often, but only because I’m busy exploring new restaurants. The current Gig Harbor restaurant is in a different location than the original. It’s also much bigger and much nicer.
These are pictures from my last visit. I’m always warmly greeted. I love their complementary basket of fresh chips and salsa. The salsa is some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered a Combination plate with a Cheese Enchilada, Chile Rellano and Taco Dorado. Served steaming hot, I loved everything, except for the Chile Relleno, which is a house specialty. For dessert, I ordered Flan. I prefer flan with a more delicate texture, but it was exactly like the one served at the original location, so I assume it’s a family recipe. It’s pretty good. All in all, I had a very...
