You can either get one of their house specialty bowls or create your own. I opted to create my own regular sized bowl with 3 scoops of fish. The size of the fish itself seemed small, so I got a double scoop of the salmon and 1 scoop of albacore. I normally get tuna, but their tuna at the time didn't really seem as fresh as the others. For toppings, you can choose as many as you want; however, they only give you 1 scoop of each topping you choose. Avocado is not part of the free toppings, as they charge an extra $1. I got the spicy mayo for the sauce and they mix that with all of the toppings and the fish. I liked that they have a lot of options for the sauces. Lastly, they put the mixture on top of your choice of base- white or brown rice, or mixed greens.
The price seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. It was $12.05 (with tax) for a regular bowl. Customer service was also great, as the guy who made my bowl was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Will be back again...
Read moreI’m signed up for the FiveStars app and got a 25% off coupon for the 4th of July. I didn’t want to miss the deal, so I went to the store and ordered a large bowl and a sushi set. I told the staff member I wanted to use my coupon, and she asked me to enter my phone number, which I did.
But I was still charged the full price. When I asked why, she said she thought I was just asking how to sign up. I never asked that—and I got points for the order, so it was clear I already had an account. When I explained that, she didn’t offer to fix it, adjust the price, or even apologize. There was no effort from her side to make it right.
I understand it was a busy day, and she might have had a lot on her mind. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry before, so I know how overwhelming it can get. But still, I don’t think I should have been left feeling guilty or upset—I didn’t do anything wrong. Sadly, that’s exactly how I felt after visiting the store. I didn’t even feel like enjoying the...
Read moreWhen they first opened they were a 4 or 4.5 star now when I go I feel like they skimp on ingredients and sometimes the fish isn't very fresh tasting. I usually get their greens and more often than not half is inedible. Today some of my lettuce was slimy and what wasn't slimy was yellow or very wilted with a few nice pieces mixed in. Very disappointed, and they are a little more pricey than other options in town that are better quality and more generous with toppings. Staff is hit or miss on friendliness. At times they don't listen and I get wrong stuff(today I asked for shrimp twice and she gave me salmon). I've also seen some poor food handling(I am food safety certified so I know what to look for). It's a very short walk from my house but I will be going elsewhere...
