Las Delicias Glendale — Restaurant in Glendale

Been coming here for 20+ years. Service is always mediocre at best, but there are times when I am hangry and craving quickly made Mexican food, so off to LD's I go. Last night's service was the worst yet. Our server was not a good listener at all. Started with drink orders. I said I would stick with water. My son ordered a Dr. Pepper. The server then repeated that we wanted two Dr. P's. No. Just one. We ordered our food once the soda arrived. We wanted two roasted jalapeños as well. I also stated I would be placing a to-go order later. He said ok. The attentive busboy refilled my water and gave us more salsa. Our food arrived, no roasted jalapeños, though. We waited to see if he would bring them separately. He never came back except to bring the bill. Never asked if we wanted something else and, obviously, forgot I wanted to place a to-go order. We had to wait 5+ minutes for him to come back at which time he asked if I can pay him. I told him I needed to place the to-go order of 3 bean tostadas. He whipped the check off the table brought it back and charged me for 3 beef tacos. I had to flag him down to let him know the order was incorrect. Again he took the bill, came back and said that I would be getting the bean tostdas and not the tacos even though the bill still had the beef tacos listed on it. He said they were the same price. He then asked me to pay him. He left to to process my card and stood at the table while I added tip (much less than the 20% I typically give) and signed his copy. He grabbed it, said thank you and walked away. My son had to ask the busboy for a box to take home his leftovers. Once we received the to-go order, we immediately left. This server was the nail in the coffin after coming here since 1998 (I can still recall that even the Riviera had consistent better service). We will continue to support our 'new' favorite Mexican...

I have no idea how this place has a 4 star rating. The only thing that was good about this place was our server. The chips were very stale, margaritas were so bad we didn’t even drink them. That should have been a hint as to how the food was going to taste. We ordered steak fajitas and chicken enchiladas. They came out super fast which was great. But the flavor was terrible. I was going to choke through my enchiladas just to not be a bother, but when my boyfriend set down his fajitas and said, “I can’t eat this”, I pushed away my plate as well. I have never seen my boyfriend turn away food. We asked for our check and our waitress pointed out that we hadn’t eaten, we simply mentioned that she was great, but the food is terrible. She took our uneaten plates to her manager and he still charged us full price, never came and apologized or asked if there was anything he could do etc. I’ve included a picture of everything we left behind. We are currently on our drive to another Mexican restaurant so that we can have a nice meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If the food and margaritas aren’t bad enough, the bussers were dropping trashcans out in the middle of the dining area and loudly throwing the plates and dirty dishes into bins. My husband and I have been coming here for years and loved this place until our last 2 visits. A month ago my husband and I came for lunch. Awful service took 20 minutes to bring water and chips mind you it wasn’t busy at all maybe 4 tables total. Eventually got our food to find a long hair in a ball in my husbands burrito. Complained to the server letting her know it’s not her fault. She had a new one made for us. Asked to speak to the manager and our server told us be careful because the owner of the restaurant will not give us a discount or even apologize. Paid and left disgusted didn’t even want to eat after that. TODAY MY HUSBAND AND I GO AGAIN FOR LUNCH. None of staffs there on time the owner couldn’t even bring the tables chips and water. Waited a good 25 mins once again. Ordered or food to find a small bug in our food. Immediately asked to speak to the owner . He comes to our table grabbed our plate quickly and doesn’t say anything. Server brought us a new plate of food. Explained to server our experience today and last month and she apologized and said we still have to pay the owner said. I spoke with owner told him I’m extremely upset and don’t want the remade food and want to leave. He demanded that I pay regardless. Told him I will be leaving a review and he said I don’t care. This once good restaurant has gone down hill for the WORSE…...
