What can ya say? It's always welcome to have hand pulled noodles in Colorado!
After having been there three times now, I can say that their service is efficient and attentive, though their broth & flavor profiles lean more on the bland side.
The hand pulled noodles have good bounce & texture. Though I personally prefer their knife cut ones the best, especially if you like a thick noodle! Their broth on the noodle soup had aroma, though I'll be it's been a bit bland now after the three times we've been.
We also tried three other noodle dishes. Their cold/dry noodles were seasoned well and full of toppings, and paired great with the noodles! We also had just plain stir friend noodles - which is akin to a soy chili oil sauce noodle. Leans a bit sweet.
We had their shen jian bao - they were fried perfectly on the bottom, paired with a soft, and not too doughy exterior. Ample filling, that could use a tad bit more seasoning, but nothing the aromatic chili oil + vinegar combo couldn't fix.
We finished off with the brown sugar dessert, which is a traditional classic! Fruit, jellies, haw flakes, peanuts, and a chilled brown sugar jelly pair together for a refreshing treat.
Lan's has a pleasant atmosphere that's great for date night, or a casual get together. Fresh interior decor. Lots of room!
Nice to see yet another Asian establishment here, and it's great to support your local Asian businesses to encourage even more into our...
Read moreVery prompt and attentive service. The pan-fried pork dumplings are made by hand to order with fresh dough, with a nice ginger flavor. The noodles are also made by hand to order. The hand-stretched noodles are chewy and soft, and the hand-cut noodles are thicker and even more chewy. Both are amazing and are definitely worth the visit alone. We had the combo stir-fried stretched noodles with shrimp, chicken and lean beef, and the hand-cut noodles with brisket. Both were amazing, but the combo was slightly better. The brisket is soft and flavorful, but be warned it's very rich (as expected). The combo was even better, with large pieces of chicken, beef, and a couple of shrimp. The lean beef has a great flavor, and the chicken is remarkably tender. We did not try the soup versions of the noodles, but the stir fry is perfect. We finished off with a large bowl of black sticky rice with mango and coconut milk. The sticky rice is cut into small pieces, and the mango is present but takes a back seat to the lychee flavor that permeates the coconut milk. It's very good and does a great job as a contrast to the noodles. Note that this is a very different dish from Thai sticky rice. There are a few bar stools seats facing the dumpling station, where you can watch the 3-person team preparing the dumplings in an assembly line. The food and service was excellent and we will be back to try more of the menu (and more stir-fry...
Read moreThey offer KNIFE cut noodles! An option very few restaurants offer anymore, especially in the US.
In order of preference: Knife cut noodles stir fry with brisket- my favorite dish, noodles were fresh and chewy, brisket was melt in your mouth and rich, flavors were perfect. I look forward to trying the other protein stir fry knife cut noodles soon!
Hand Pulled noodle stir fry combination- close second, noodles were super fresh and less thick than knife cut ones. Combination is chicken, beef, and shrimp with vegetables. Delicious.
Pan fried Pork Dumplings- six big dumplings with dipping sauce on the table. Filling is tasty, dumplings are a bit doughy.
Dessert- Black sticky rice with mango and condensed milk. Ok i ranked this last because the rest of the food was so good and I had the Thai mango sticky rice in my head....this is NOT that. It's more a scoop of black sticky rice floating in a bowl of coconut milk and a very small amount of mango. It was still a good dessert, but not the Thai dessert I had originally pictured with more fruit.
Other reviews mentioned bland or not enough flavors, everything we tried was delicious with really good flavors. They are probably still working out the local flavor preference, but seem to be paying attention to...
