It was super busy in there which was a good sign. Everything we got was delicious. I was literally there watching the men make what I ordered fresh including the pasta (took about 20 mins!!). GUYS. This food was incredible. Look, I'm from The Midwest (Milwaukee/Chicago)where there are a TON of authentic itallian restaurants that have become a comfort to me. Chicagos italian food scene is INSANE. I not only miss the food, but the sense of family you get when youre waiting for your food and the staff tells you about their recipies and how their grandparents came from italy lol Coming to TN with mostly BBQ joints & Less than authentic tacos...lol its been rough. It was hard to find any good Italian spots anywhere that made me feel like home and I hate settling for olive garden all the time. I decided to swing by here after work and I am so glad I did. A good meal can make a good night and I felt so much better after a long day of work when I walked in and saw smiling faces and smelled good food! I ordered 3 entrees and 3 desserts and some breads and spent about $70 if you're wondering what youre looking at as far as prices. Pretty good imo. They recommend Italian Mac and cheese for a kid and it was a HIT. I ate lobster Mac and cheese and it was amazing. The breads, the Gelato, tiramsu, everything was so good. These guys truly made me feel like I was back eating Italian food at one of those Family style Italian diners back in Milwaukee, where the chefs make you feel love in every bite & chat you up while you wait. Thanks for finally making TN feeling like home! Ill 100% be back!!! especially when i miss home (which is all the...
Read moreThis is a gem, hole-in-the-wall Italian place in Goodlettsville that specializes in pasta varieties. We've eaten here once, and had take away once. Both times the food was excellent and well-done. The one time we dined inside, there was a special on Chicken Parm that was meaty and very flavorful. The sauce used on the pasta was very creamy due to being full of cheese mixed in. I really liked it but my wife, who is somewhat limited due to taste preferences and lactose intolerance, found it "too cheesy." Next time she'll ask for the marinara. No biggie.
The pasta choices seem endless and all are available virtually all of the time. Yummo. Pasta Galifi also specializes in Gelato with a large array of flavors available. I thought the Gelato could have been a tad colder and firmer, but that may be personal preference.
Seating inside the restaurant is limited, tight, and the chairs are pretty small. Not the most comfy but I got the impression that most of Galifi's business is take away. The owner is very friendly and from the old country. He really adds to the atmosphere.
Net/net there is no small business here in town that is more deserving of your business and support. It's unique, delicious, and...
