Japan House — Restaurant in Goodlettsville

I’m from out of town and wanted to try a good Japanese spot. Because of the high reviews I decided Japan House is the place to go. I was there in time for the lunch special and ordered The steak Hibachi box that came with 4 pieces of sushi for $9.49. The cashier asked me what kind of sushi and I said salmon. I thought everything was fine but the manager (lady owner) whispered to the cashier that she didn’t charge me for an item. Next thing I know, I was paying close to $18 with tax. They didn’t tell me I was being charged more at all. I thought I was going to at least get a substantial amount of food. I was given a small box with 4 (1 cubic inch ea) slices of thinly-sliced beef, one piece of brocolli, and 4 little pieces of sushi with a side of rice. I didn’t get my money’s worth in food. The quality of the food was fast food grocery level. If you say you’ll do better I hope it means that you’ll tell each customer what they are paying for before giving them the whole bill. This is a review for the Japanhouse in Goodlettsville . We ordered it to go . The sushi at that location was poorly made , and warm ,so i only tried it once . The standout was the Hibachi ! The portion size was excellent for the price , and the food was seasoned well . After going a couple days ago i was really disappointed to realize they have drastically cut portion sizes while keeping the same price , barely any vegetables were added , and the steak and chicken were not seasoned at all . It is rare anymore to feel you are getting your moneys worth and now to my great disappointment at this location you won't . 2:15 order for 6pm still not ready at 6:45….. The food is good but they have too many to-go orders to keep up with. If you go at an off-time you’re probably fine but otherwise avoid this place. It’s OK but not worth 4.5 hour wait and I mean, literally, a 4.5 hour wait. ** Thank you for your response.
