The issue concerning bed bugs at Baymont by Wyndham Goodlettsville/Nashville, located at 100 Northcreek Blvd, Goodlettsville, has become a pressing concern for me. As a licensed dentist who has frequented this establishment on several occasions over the past few months, I found myself assigned to room 136 during my most recent stay.
While the first two nights passed without incident, my wife awoke on the third morning covered in red bumps, which she suspected were bug bites. Upon inspecting the room, I discovered a sizable bed bug and a crushed, bloody bed bug on the pillow. To substantiate my claim, I documented the presence of these pests with photographs and promptly brought the matter to the attention of the assistant manager, Ken, at the front desk.
Ken assured me that my concerns were duly noted and indicated that the general manager would address the issue upon returning from their trip the following Monday. He also offered to relocate me to another room, but due to work commitments, I was unable to take advantage of this offer immediately. Upon my return, I found a different staff member at the reception desk who was aware of the situation. They mentioned that the general manager's wife might be able to discuss the matter with me, and in the meantime, I was assigned to room 138, a king-size accommodation.
Notably, I had experienced an eye infection after a previous stay at the same hotel a few weeks prior. Although I shared this incident with Ken, I did not formally file a complaint. However, given the severity of the bed bug situation, I decided to escalate the matter to the corporate level. I requested a refund for my current week's stay and insisted on receiving a copy of the bed bug cleaning report following the professional treatment of room 136 and adjacent rooms to ensure the safety of other guests.
Corporate customer service, represented by Sunny, acknowledged my complaint, assigned me a reference number, and assured me that someone would follow up within 2-3 days. To my surprise, I received an email the next day stating that Ken had already addressed the issue and reassigned me to room 136. This response seemed inadequate, considering my request for a refund and concerns for guest safety.
During checkout the following morning, I reiterated my communication with corporate to Ken. He seemed puzzled as to why I had not informed him of my complaint directly, to which I clarified that my contact with corporate was solely regarding the refund, not an indication of his lack of assistance.
Given the seriousness of the situation and the apparent lack of concern from the hotel management, I am compelled to escalate this matter to the health authority. Additionally, I intend to share my experience with bed bugs online to ensure that appropriate action is taken. The worsening condition of my wife's red bumps only heightens my concern for her well-being and none of these people even cared about asking how is she or if she is doing fine....
Read moreDeserves -10 stars! I was traveling through TN on business. All other hotels were sold out at the time. There was a softball tournament in the area (I was told). I should have stayed in my car! This by far is one of the filthiest hotels I have ever stayed in. After entering the room and seeing the condition (and knowing this was the last resort), I immediately went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies, tear-resistant gloves, towels, wash cloths and sheets (I had brought my own pillows from home). That Walmart cashier probably thought I was trying to clean up a crime scene.
THE ROOM: The bed consisted of a fitted sheet, flat sheet, blanket, another flat sheet acting as a coverlet a bed scarf at the foot of the bed. The hotel sheets were stained, had cigarette burns/ holes and wear spots. The blanket on the bed wasn't washed and was sticky and stained. The bed scarf had burn holes. The sofa had burn holes and was sticky. The desk chair had crumbs and the pleather was peeling. The carpet was sticky. There were toenail clippings by the bed. The mirrors were filthy, light bulbs missing and/or blown. Shower tile was molded and cracking. Bathroom ceiling was filthy and stained. Shower fan did not work. There was a booger on the bathroom wall (I cannot make this stuff up!) Light fixtures above bath sink were dirty and had a layer of dust and orange spots on them. Room had not been dusted (ever) - layer of dust on top of armoire, lamp shades, picture frames, basically everywhere. Stains all over walls and door. Electrical plugs/light switches were beyond disgusting. Air condition front was falling off. Someone had used electrical tape to tape the sides of the curtains to the wall. It took me 3 hours to clean/disinfect this room. If I could have ripped out that carpet, I would have.
Customer service is severely lacking at this establishment. I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. The hotel staff ignored the DO NOT DISTURB sign, knocked and asked if we needed any towels (I don’t think so). I went to the front desk to ask if could get two plastic forks from the dining area. The female at the front desk looked as if she had just rolled out of bed, possibly on some sort of “medication” (let's just be real, she was freaking high as a kite and practically nodding off) and was texting on her phone. After standing at the desk staring at her awkwardly for approximately a minute waiting for her to acknowledge my question, never taking her eyes off the phone, she finally said “yeah”. I could have taken the forks, waffle iron and cereal dispenser and she would have never known.
THE PLUS SIDE: (yes, there is a plus side): No roaches, bedbugs, hyperdermic needles or vermin were present during my stay.
To the guest(s) that stayed in the room after me - you are welcome! (and I bet you loved the Charmin toilet paper I left for you in...
Read moreI called office and spoke to someone at nine about the filthy room we recieved upon check in. It stinks in here as well has all kinds of oil all over the inside and outside of the shower curtain has dirt everywhere mirrors and all it is just disgusting now at 10:32 no one has come up here to clean the room and it is $349.89 for 2 nights definitely not worth it. Ill never stay here again. I feel like they may have bed bugs or something my husband has been itching since he sat down. And im very uncomfortable staying here. It seems like a drug motel to put toilet paper in our peep hole. Who does that? And not to mention when booking the room they were made aware there were going to be 2 adults and two children. Well they gave us 2 wash cloths and 2 towels my kids couldnt even take a shower before bed. This is the worst place ive ever stayed. I would not recommend staying here unless your a zoo animal. The second day i was here i had to wipe everything down and change my own trash and vacuum my own floor. I paid to be the housekeeper here. Wow! Im leaving here going to holiday inn express for the remainder of my vacation. A week longer here id go absolutely insane. This evening my 6 yr old son spilled water on the sheets. I called office to get new ones they never came so i asked my husband to go get them. At that time they threatened my husband told us to leave or they would call the cops. So i called the cops as we were packing to leave. The cops couldnt do anything but i stated i wanted proof that we were leaving and that they would not charge us for the second night they then printed a piece of paper out i said no i want a reciept with your handwriting that you would only charge us for the first night and so then the woman at desk wrote on the print out would not charge for second night. And signed it. If they charge us we will get a civil attorney and take them to court for everything. I have pictures...
