Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

Worst Applebee's ever. We have been going to various Applebee's for a long time. Today was Mother's Day, and everywhere was packed, except Applebee's. We got seated right away as the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full...on Mother's Day. We were quick to learn why. The waiter finally came over and took our drink order. Then he took our dinner order. No apps ordered. We really wanted to get in and out quick, but that didn't happen. As we waited for dinner, we noticed the ceiling had gotten wet from the rain leaking through the roof, and they had to section off the area. Several more people came in. Then we noticed all the customers that came in after us got served, and we were still waiting, so I went to go ask someone about our order because our waiter never came back to the table to check on us. They said it would be just a minute. They had made a mistake. Seriously, we only ordered a salad and fish and chips, how hard is that. Took an hour and 20+ minutes to get our food. Someone who came in 40 minutes after us got served and left before we even got our food. The waiter was too busy talking to certain guests he must have known and was dancing, etc. It's fine to have fun while working, but you still need to take care of your guests. When we got our food, he brought to the table and said nice fresh hot fries. I thought to myself they better be after that wait, but the fish was so soggy on one side, May have double dipped. The salad was so soggy with the dressing that it had to be sitting there for a while, probably because the waiter was too busy with the other guests. We never got any apology from anyone, never even saw the manager except a quick walk into lobby from kitchen then ducked back into kitchen. No offer of any discount or anything. Just put a check on the table and walked away. When he returned with the card, he did say, "Have a nice night." Now I am usually a great tipper and give at least 20%, but they deserved nothing today, but being in the industry myself, I know they work for tips so he got 15% which is probably more than he deserved for what was the worst service I've received in a restaurant for at least the last 10+ years. Usually, I don't do this, but I highly highly recommend that if you want to eat at Applebee's, find a different location. Applebee's as a restaurant is not bad and generally good, but please don't eat at this location. I didn't even take pictures, because I was too frustrated and they were not picture worthy plates. It's not worth it, and you will regret it. The company really needs to look into this store and do...

We went at 10pm today and I can say I will not be coming back I will dive the extra miles to go to Arlington or Irving. We walk in and immediately get seated tell my husband what to order me for drink because I'm headed to the restroom with my son. This takes about five minutes, we get to put table they still not have asked for drinks. They had a large party right in front of us so we patiently wait didn't mind since it's obviously busy. They leave about five minutes in they leave. Bus girl comes starts cleaning waitress gets tip and is complaining about the amount left, by now there was another person helping out with the table. While others in a back table were making silverware. So by now there is more than enough people to help us but now one comes. So I get one of the waiters that's helping the table next to us. By now we are more than ready to place our drink and food order. So we get everything placed. After taking our order she gets with the waitress that was helping the table in front of us( the one complaining about the tip) and asks if she had our table and she tells her which all she's handling and none of them include our table, our waiter is telling her it's not her either all while they see me looking straight at them. Don't get me wrong out waiter was great really nice and polite just don't think it was okay for them to be discussing that on the floor. And that's not even the worst part a huge party came in and sat in the table infront of us and the (tip complaining waitress) is helping them the other waiters in the back are complaining how she's getting all the big parties that manager comes and tells them there will be two waitress helping the party as they have two separate tables. (Tip complaining waiters) is upset about it about it so it's just gets catty she ends up being in in charge because customers think this will be better because the 2nd table is the kids table and checks will be separated. Maybe it was a bad night I don't know it was just to catty for me and there was so customer service...

I don't know where to begin. This restaurant has greatly gone downhill. It used to be fun, enjoyable, and relaxing. Now this particular location is my least favorite. Trust me, I'm a yelper. Now tonight was not a busy night. My girlfriend and I went in and the hosts were confused and throughout the night I learn they are sticking people wherever they see an empty table, even if they have to quickly clean one. When we were seated, we take our time looking at the menu waiting to be greeted for our drinks. We sat there for a good 20 minutes before our server came by. By then we had already decided what we wanted for appetizer, main course and the likes. Also, later I learn that this particular server, Quan, made every single one of her tables wait at least 20 or more minutes just to be greeted. Her tables were not properly stocked, as both the salt shaker and the pepper shaker were both completely empty. I asked for water with lemon and we both received water with lime. About 25 minutes later we finally receive our Appetizers---salads (which for some reason had fries in it!), and another 35 before our food actually arrived. I know our food had been sitting out there for a good majority of that time because when it arrived it was normal temperature. It was supposed to come out sizzling or steaming, worst case. I noticed at least 2 of her tables had called over a manger during the duration of our visit for similar complaints. During our hour and a half stay Quan made an appearance maybe 4 times between all 5 tables. Lastly, when given my card to pay, she disappeared for an additional 15 minutes, which I hope would put anyone on edge. Quan did not smile once during the length of our stay. The lady next to me had said she waited 29 minutes to cash out so she could go home. Worst experience ever. Might not return to this location based on some of these specific reviews...
