I like Carl's Jr, and I generally like this store and location. However, the owner needs to get a better manager who is more consistent in this time of Covid. I come to this store fairly often but only when I am visiting relatives in Grants Pass. I usually am driving a tall RV so can't go through the drive thru. In May 2020, I came to the store, tried the doors (they were locked) and a nice woman came to the door and took my order (usually two Western Bacon Cheeseburgers). To my surprise, I did not have to wait long and she took my credit card. Nice! The next time was a pain. I knocked on the doors, but no one came. I ended up standing in the drive through line, between two giant pickups, in the sun. While standing there (again, my tall RV would not fit in the drive thru lane), I called the store. A man named Ricardo answered. He then opened the front door and motioned me to come over to him. I left my place in the drive thru line and asked him if he could take my order like the last time. This guy was terrible! He told me that he could, but unfortunately he was on break! I had to go back and stand in the drive thru line, and the guy made me lose my place in line! The next time I visited this place (each visit was about a month apart) in July 2020, I was driving a normal car and went through the drive thru. I asked the woman at the window if they were taking orders by phone or at the door again. She said yes! She then told me to go park at the pickup parking spot. I did so, started reading the news on my phone, and was then startled when someone yelled in my window "You have to stop staring at your phone, it's bad for your eyes!!!". I was speechless at how rude this was -- it was the woman at the drive thru window who was delivering my food. I guess she was trying to be funny -- but this was not funny -- it was rude and disturbing. I just wish that this Carls Jr would be consistent in its policies and not change them every other week. I also wish that the staff were better trained -- a lot better trained. Making someone stand in a drive thru line between cars in the hot sun is...
Read moreSo my wife and I have been here several times, given them several chances. But virtually every time my order has been messed up, and we get staff who don’t look like they want to be there. I get that a fast food job sucks, but we should remember to be thankful to have a job. Anyway, back to the final straw… so Tuesday evening, 11/21, we were having a bad day, and we had just left the grocery store at about 9:30 pm, so we wanted to pick up something quick and this CJ was very close by. We used the drive thru and the worker there was fine, but my order got messed up as I didn’t want cheese or mayo on my super star, which they still put cheese on it. We checked it before we drove off, so I’m glad we did. It’s sad we have to check it every time we order here. So we went inside, and my wife explained the mistake to the counter lady. And the people working the kitchen laughed. So the lady told them what was wrong, and apparently they speak hardly any English. And they laughed again. We found that very rude and disrespectful. The counter lady claimed they didn’t speak English, but I think it’s not a coincidence that they laughed at my wife when she explained the mistake. This is the final straw for this poorly staffed CJ, we will only go to the one on 6th St from now on, even if it means driving all the way across town. That location has friendly staff and they’ve only ever screwed up my order once in the last year or so. And when they did, they were super apologetic and very kind about it. So in conclusion, if you’re craving CJ, go to the one on 6th St, it’s ran way better. Never coming back to...
Read moreI've been a fan of Carl's Jr since highschool growing up in the S California area and was happy to see that not only were they in Phnom Penh (we're we've also lived) but conveniently located in Grants Pass as well. Sadly my most recent visit through the drive through was a disaster... not only did it seem like nothing I said was understood by the young person on the intercom but viceversa as well - the menu has become so complex that I couldn't find the equivalent of a Whopper Jr, a simple small size burger and sides and ended up with something which cost over $16 😵💫 What made the experience even more challenging was that after getting my meal and checking it before I drove out of the parking lot was that my order was incorrect. So I had to drive around, get back in line and wait until I could explain the issue and receive what I had ordered in the first place. What really was sad and added to the low score for service was that there was no apology for the mix-up (having worked in food service, these things happen, but generally in the places I've worked we always apologized for them and tried to make them right. Oh well. The sandwich & side were both still good, but way too much for my appetite and wallet. It will likely be a while before I try CJs again; I'll likely go back to eating at Taco Bell instead next time, fast, good, polite, on point and, the offer "Senior Drinks" Hopefully my experience with CJ in GP was just a blip and I wish them well and if it wasn't a blip that they are open to improving...
