Long story short:
1/ Bugs, bugs, bugs!
2/ The 5-star reviews on here seem fake or maybe friends wrote them? Almost every one mentions "variety" - all with similar writing cadence.
3/ Buyer beware.
Short story long:
This place is not well run. I'm sad to say. I LOVE Mediterranean food & have enjoyed many local buffets. This is on the lower end of the scale, in terms of environment, as well as excessively high pricing for what is received. The place feels cheap - bathrooms ration paper towels, chairs are dirty, setup is not intuitive/very crowded, and worst - BUGS are all over the place (at least when I visited). Flies by the plates at beginning of buffet line, and at least 50 small bugs crawling all over the table I chose - I had to move because the bugs started crawling into my food! Another patron stormed out the door while I was eating - warning us to "look closely at our food - be careful" - and expressing disgust that he had found bugs in his food... The bug issue is most concerning. I can imagine the health department would not like what they see going on.
When I spoke with the manager about my concerns, he quickly deflected responsibility, claiming he couldn't control bugs coming in the doors, etc. I disagree - you can absolutely make your restaurant better. It's possible there are some cultural differences as well. They gave me 25% off my meal (I didn't ask for this, they just offered), but sadly I won't be back. I couldn't really finish my meal in enjoyment after the amount of bug issues observed & heard about. 3 strikes, you're out.
PS - the food is NOT worth the price. It's worth only about half (or less) what they charge. I'm willing to pay for quality, but you won't find it here. Try Afrah in Richardson (amazing!!) or Andalous in Irving for more of a...
Read moreHad a horrible experience and will not be coming back. We showed up and the person up front was very stand offish, not friendly at all. We got there around 2 stopped eating at 4 and just sat down and finished our ice cream/coffee for 15 minutes, little did we know that after 4 you get upcharged to regular dinner pricing. We absolutely felt scammed, the guy up front said there’s a sign somewhere, no where on the website does it clearly state that after 4 you get charged dinner pricing if you came in hours earlier , there is no clear display in the restaurant that very clearly states that either or anything that says “If you stay after lunch time you will be upcharged”. To top it off there was a puddle of water in the middle of the walk way, no wet floor warning sign in sight my father and I almost slipped twice in the span of 2 hours so that’s an injury and lawsuit waiting to happen, it is very clearly that the people on staff responsible for over seeing everything going on in the restaurant are not properly going their job. I understand getting charged dinner pricing for arriving right at 4 or even 30 minutes before, I understand if there was some type of different dinner meal that we could’ve gotten charged for or if there was a very clear sign with a statement or on the website but we quite literally got upcharged for just sitting down and finishing our ice cream for 15 minutes, after this experience it’s safe to say I will not be returning as it is clear that they absolutely lack hospitality in...
Read moreA good above average all-you-can-eat buffet. You chose your own table, eat unlimited food, get your own plates and food, take your own beverage, and the plates are cleaned after you leave. The place is clean. Truth is, the food is very bland by itself, but if you add a little lemon, a little of this salad, a little of that spread- the total combined taste is great! Obviously, it's mostly chicken meat that is served, but there is also minced gyro meat and beef kebabs (with quite a lot of fillers other than meat- you can see it after biting into one of the beef kebab). There is 3 types of humus (regular, avocado, spicy one). They have babaganush and oven baked great eggplants. I don't like "fillers" usually and mostly eat meat, but their yellow rice is amazing! I went for 2nd plate. Interesting salads - like sour sumac arugula salad- sounds weird but it works and tastes great! They also have minced sour cabbage with mint - again, sounds different (to me) but tastes good! The drinks are refillable - all by yourself- there is a soda fountain; there is also rose water. At the end you can make urslf tea or coffee and have (a bit overburned) slice of pakhlava. Loved the independance...
