My favorite place to sample all kinds of new / different beer. Huge selection (100 on tap plus cellar list) of ever-changing beer selection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Love the iPad beer menus available to help you narrow down your choices.
Happy hour is very happy, especially if you join their Century Club (new for 2020). If club member, happy hr is extended to 8p on weekdays and also Sat afternoon, whish is really nice if you're a college football fan.
You'll see everything here: beer snobs, adventurous drinkers that want to try everything, garage brewers discussing how the beer was made, a few of those craft-beer looking dudes with the long beards and flannel shirts, and some of "those people"... You know, the ones who look at the 100 craft beers available, ask a dozen questions, sample 3-4, then order a frickin' Coors Light... Or White Claw :)
ADDED 7/2021: On the weekend when 9p or 10p rolls around, the bar changes personality and gets younger and livelier, so plan accordingly to what kind of bar enviro you like. Some Fridays I'll get there at 6p, enjoy a couple of hrs of 'Happiness', and hang around til 10p for a little people watching. Good times...
The ipads can be a little slow sometimes (they're like edition '0'), so do yourself a favor and download Untapp'd (aka Beer-Facebook) on your smart phone. It's the 'app' that the beer-list TV's on the wall are referencing.
Once installed, click on Nearby Venues, choose Neds (should be at the top if you're sitting there) , and click All Menus. The default listing is by tap number. You can also sort by rating (yours or Untapp'd), beer styles, most recently put on a tap, etc. Great way to keep up with what you've already tried and liked / hated.
A bonus for all you self-indulgent Gen Z's and Millennials who thrive to see yourself online: create a username in Untapp'd and when you review a beer and tag Ned's, your name and face, if you added a pic, will scroll across the bottom of the beer menu Tv's. Look at you,...
Read moreWe went there after our wedding let out. We were so excited to go out with friends after hearing what an awesome place it was. It took 25 min to even noticed and get a drink. The bar tender was to drunk to remember my 1 drink order that he had to come back and ask 3 times. My brother in law placed a small drink order and he couldnt get that one either. To top it off the bar tender lost his credit card. When the bar tender was asked where the card was he proceeded to argue with us that he gave it back. He couldnt find it he checked his own pockets and the kitchen even. ( sketchy) then lost interest in looking for it and proceeds to take more shots. Eventually he took his info. Doesnt help my brother in law lives out of state. We watched the sinks over flow for 10 min as no bartender paid any attention. Some people tried buying us a shot but by that time we had enough and told them no thank you because we didnt want thwir card to get lost as well. This is just some of the stuff that happened the only bright spot in that bar was the people we were with. I will never recommend this place to anyone nor will I step foor...
Read moreNed Kelly’s is a phenomenal venue, with 100 beers on tap. The bar staff was so accommodating, sampling beer after ale, after lager... (and quite knowledgeable on the selections). The bar area is vibrant, spreading out into two main areas for lounging. Really great ambiance.
The tap selection is awesome, though it can be a bit overwhelming. Two large monitors display 20 of the tap selections at a time, rotating thru the entire interval (which means you have to keep up or wait for the listing to come around again). They have iPads at the bar to view the tap selections based on your search criteria. However, they are somewhat slow and limited in number. Fortunately, the bar staff makes great recommendations.
This is a great place to spend some time sipping and relaxing.
Note: Even the rest rooms are cool: the men’s room has beer keg urinals. Makes me wonder what the ladies room looks like (I’ll have to identify as female on my next...
