Joymongers Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Greensboro

Been to this place several times. My wife and I had a baby a couple years ago so haven’t been out in a while. We finally been slowly going out with our now toddler to several breweries when we can. This brewery may be the only one that is not kid friendly. We were there early around 4pm waiting on the food truck to set up. It was us and 5 other couples with small kids. Some of the kids started running around but the place was empty so we didn’t think much about it. The bartender (maybe the owner) came over to the couple next to us and told them that they needed to control their kids or leave. All the couples, including us, got up and left at the same time. I ended up cancelling our food truck order. If they don’t want kids in there they should just say so. But 99% of breweries are pretty open to have kiddos around. Will not go back. On the plus side, the other bartender was quite nice and looked embarrassed on what the other guy did. Their beer is solid.

(Update after owner response) I totally understand the liability aspect of it. Just seemed unnecessarily aggressive at the time. Still wouldn’t recommend people with small kids to come. Again beer is solid....

This place is a gem for our city. The community is enriched with the atmosphere that this place provides. Live music while walking downtown is a treat. The varity of food truck coop is what keeps me coming back.

However tonight's experience was unfortunate and I want to share this story in hopes that this doesnt happen to another patron and doesn't cascade into similar experiences ruining the reputation of the host (Joymongers). I hope the owners part ways with the bandito burrito food truck. I was trying to order while standing in rain this evening and was completely ignored. Awkwardly I tapped on the glass... twice... to ask if they were closed for the evening. The women in the window stared right through me and just carried on talking to the cook. Never felt so invisible. Digging through Reviews, I believe this might be the same women from the negative reviews at the bodega location.

We got there at close to closing time-the very rude bartender said you have 5 minutes to decide your drink, 20 minutes to drink it-okay cool no problem ..outside waiting on our Uber and she comes out to yell at us I AM KICKING YALL OUT NOW..we’ll thats cool because we were leaving anyways ..she comes back out within a minute and i said..did you kick the other 5 people out of the bar..”oh he’s my ride” okay that’s convenient-all 5 people drove you and they’re going to drive you home after drinking their FULL beers , you couldn’t even let us stand under the patio to be out of the rain waiting on our Uber but the other 5 people get to chill and drink their whole beers?????? Seems kind of jacked up to me. After the experience with this bartender I will not be back. Super disappointed. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced rude staff-and they’re NOT busy or slammed. There’s really no excuse for the attitude. Again, I will not return or recommend this...
