I was at Crave on Saturday July 19th for a birthday dinner. For starters, there was like 15 of us. When we called for a reservation the week before, they said we didn’t need one….but for 15 people we at least wanted to give a heads up you know, didn’t want to just come in without them knowing about a large number of guests. Secondly, there was only 3 employees working in the front (they said people had called in)….we sat over a hr before even getting water…and close to 3 hrs before even getting our order taken. It was unreal. Fast forward, we got the food a hr later after ordering (it was cold) my order was wrong and also the birthday girl order was wrong. (Ok cool I know things happen) I ordered rib tips, but was given ribs….which is almost the same thing so it wasn’t too much of a big deal, let’s not forget..ITS NOT WHAT I ORDERED, but I still accepted it. At this point I was over it. When I 1st looked at the menu, I already knew I was gonna get some sweet potato cake to go. So I told the waitress since I didn’t receive what I originally ordered but still accepted it, could I be accommodated with a piece of cake for the trouble. (I don’t know the waitress name, she was a Caucasian woman but she was sweet and she was trying her best to work the whole dining room alone smh, with one host and 1 behind the bar, mind you it’s done got packed with people by now. I actually saw them turn people around). She told me she’d try to give me a piece of cake. So fast forward, the lady that was working behind the bar came over and bluntly told me “um I’m sorry but I’m not giving no free food” I had to catch myself because SHE WAS UNBELIEVABLY RUDE “!!! So I was like you mean to tell me we have been in here all this time with a unpleasant experience already, still was ok with eating what we didn’t order, got it and it was cold only to be told RUDELY “I’m not giving out free food”????? 1st off i wasn’t asking for free food the way she said it!!!! I can pay for anything I want!!!!!! I already knew earlier on I was going to purchase a slice of cake to go, so why couldn’t I be accommodated with it for all the trouble we had?????????? Like I couldn’t believe she said that!!!!! I didn’t even want any money off or anything!!!!! Others in the party was complaining as well so some kind of way they took $7 of each bill, not sure what that was about, but once again, i never asked for any money to be taken off. I think she said she was some kind of coordinator, but with a attitude like that, you won’t go far. You was very very rude and ill...
Read moreThe first experience with the crave was great I had the shrimp and grits and the smoked whole chicken wings and my daughter had the salmon croquettes and grits and her friend ordered the same thing as well, everything was great from the food down to our waiter he was amazing. My first experience was so good I wanted to go again the following weekend which is today i ordered the smoked chicken whole wings and the jerk chicken and waffle my daughter ordered the peach cobbler waffle and my date ordered the shrimp and grits. Everything came out at a decent time, temperature could have been hotter but wasn’t nothing to complain about until i got my chicken wings. The first time i got them they were wonderful this second experience was terrible they gave me 7 little wings instead of the 4 whole wings I received the previous weekend. I let my waiter know as soon as he brought them this was not what I had the previous weekend he said they changed them and I said that’s fine but even if you changed them I’m supposed to receive 8 little wings instead of 7 if you were just making it into the order of the 4 whole wings. He goes to tell me no that’s what they are giving I said ok I try them and they were rubbery and cold I sent them back. A young lady comes to the table and tells me since I ate 1 I had to still pay for the wings I wasn’t about to make a scene so I told her fine I won’t be back as a customer she comes back and say the best she could do was take off $4 for the wings. Remind you I basically just paid for 1 baby wing because I gave the waiter the chicken back. I wasn’t trying to get a free meal or anything I just didn’t want to pay for something that wasn’t good at all and the menu clearly says whole chicken wings. So other then that the other food I had was good but due to that mishap I won’t return that was terrible...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Dining Experience! Great Food, Impeccable Service, and True Southern Hospitality
My family and I had the most incredible experience dining downtown in Greenville today. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely exquisite, and the service was nothing short of impeccable.
But what truly set this visit apart was the kindness and compassion we were shown by a staff member named Jaqueline. While she wasn’t our server (I believe she was the hostess), she left the most lasting impression on our hearts.
After my autistic son finished his meal, I noticed he was becoming a bit antsy, so I stepped outside with him to let him stim in peace. As he spun, flapped his hands, and made a bit of joyful noise, Jaqueline was nearby cleaning the front doors. She paused, looked at me warmly, and asked, “How come you’re outside, sweetie?” When I explained that my son is autistic and I didn’t want to disturb anyone inside, she immediately stopped what she was doing and said, “You’re more than welcome to be inside. He’s welcome to stim and flap his hands, I’ll handle anyone who has a problem with it.”
She then knelt down to say hello to my son, showered him with love and a gentle hug, and made us feel more welcomed than I’ve ever felt in any restaurant. Her words and her heart brought me to tears. In that moment, she created a space of inclusion, understanding, and pure compassion, something families like mine don’t always experience when dining out.
This restaurant isn’t just serving great food, they are showing the world what true hospitality looks like. Thank you to the entire team, and especially to Jaqueline, for making our visit unforgettable. We will absolutely be back and we’ll be telling everyone we know about the yummy food along with love and kindness we experienced here.
