McDonald's Experience: Disheartening Encounter at Woodruff Rd, Greenville, SC Location
As an influencer committed to sharing authentic experiences, it is with great disappointment that I recount a recent visit to McDonald's on Woodruff Rd in Greenville, SC. It is important to shed light on both positive and negative encounters, and unfortunately, this particular experience falls into the latter category.
Allow me to emphasize that this review is based on a specific incident and does not reflect the entire McDonald's chain or its employees as a whole. However, it is crucial to address issues of discrimination and unfair treatment, as they undermine the principles of inclusivity and respect that we should strive for in all public spaces.
During my wife's visit to this McDonald's location, she encountered an unsettling situation. While the cashier appeared welcoming and provided prompt service to two different families of Black descent, the demeanor abruptly changed when it was my wife's turn. She received what can only be described as a "go to hell" look from the cashier, who proceeded to walk away without addressing her.
Naturally taken aback, my wife decided to wait and approached the manager to inquire about the situation. Regrettably, the response she received from the manager was both hateful and unwarranted. She was told, in no uncertain terms, that she would have to place her order through the kiosk, located approximately 10 feet away.
The hurtful nature of this encounter cannot be overstated. It is disheartening to witness or experience any form of discrimination, as it goes against the values of equality and fairness that we should all uphold. No individual should be made to feel unwelcome or mistreated based on their race, ethnicity, or any other characteristic.
It is my sincere hope that McDonald's takes immediate action to address this incident and ensures that their staff undergoes appropriate training to prevent such occurrences in the future. Discrimination has no place in our society, and it is vital that we hold businesses accountable for fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend visiting the McDonald's on 1111 Woodruff Rd in Greenville, SC based on the distressing experience my wife endured. It is my firm belief that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness, regardless of their background. Let us continue to advocate for equality and work towards creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.

Read moreOn 5/8/25, I stopped through this McD location for a quick meal for the kids. I pulled into the line, and asked the drive-thru attendant for a second to check the menu, and confer with the kids. Once we had decided, or so I thought, I began placing the order. My younger kid decides to ask for ice cream, so I ask if they offer it in cups because cones are only $2, and cups are not on the menu screen. I'm trying to get the price, and I repeat (a couple times) that I'm trying to confirm the options. I'm also talking to my kids as they try to add things, so it was a bit chaotic, for sure. The woman on the speaker then replies, "I already put it in the order, dang, will that complete your order?!" I was taken aback, and went ahead and confirmed the order, noticing that I was charged $3.19 for a plain sundae, no toppings. As I'm pulling away, the mic wasn't off, and the window was already open, so I can hear the window associate and another female associate discussing the fact that she was kinda rude, she knew she was rude, and that I was going to leave a bad survey, but the window associate replies "it doesn't matter, it's just a survey. Who cares?" When I get to the window, she takes my card, and doesn't engage in any kind of pleasantry, and hands me my receipt with a bit of an attitude. At that point, I don't appreciate the interaction I've had, so when I get to the pickup window, I take the drinks, and ask another associate if the location is corporate or franchised. She doesn't know, but goes to ask, and another associate (we're now at 4) comes to the window to answer my question. “The store is privately owned, but we don't keep business cards or have any manager information we can give you. Just call the 1 800 number on the cup.” I then get my food from the previous girl, and leave , pretty dissatisfied with the whole experience.
Suffice to say, I do not recommend this location, as my overall history with this location is capped off with this most recent rudeness. Even if you're having a bad day, being kind or patience is free...
Since going to another location, and having a great interaction with that team, I have acquired the general manager's number and contact information for the franchisee. I'll update after I receive a follow up from management.
For transparency, I will admit that I could've gotten my order straight before going through the line, but there were only two cars in the line when I pulled into the parking lots. I will also admit that I never frequent this location because I've had issues...
Read moreThis is the second time the old man that takes order and payment at the corner window has been rude. This time took the cake I absolutely do not like putting a bad review on anybody as I know that their job is their livelihood, but this was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in my 43 years of life. I decided to give them another chance and pulled in at 8:16 AM with my daughter they asked us to wait which was fine when the old man that works the corner window got back to the speaker to take our order He literally screamed. “WHAT DO YOU WANT”really loud after I told him my first item. He screamed very loud “WHAT ELSE” very rude and loud four times in between the four items each time. I took my 12 year old daughter there for breakfast before school this morning and the long wait at the window was going to make her late we were discussing it in the car.. We were not rude to these people at all. I told her maybe they were doing a shift change. After he treated us so rude yelling at us, for no good reason at all, I went to the corner window where the old man was and I asked him if that was him that took the order and he said yes. I told him how horribly rude he was, and he proceeded to ask me with a rude look on his face if I was going to pay him I said absolutely not, and that I would be calling corporate (which I NEVER do, this is this man’s job and I would not jeopardize that unless the situation was that bad.., I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not). The manager guy that works in the front is very rude too. I have since told others the story, and they have told me their own stories to my surprise each one of them had a story of the workers being rude at this location at 1111 Woodruff across from Target in Greenville. That’s pretty bad and it seems it’s gotten way outta control. I tried calling the store to talk to the manager at around 9 AM today when the man answered the phone, I asked if it was a corporate store or a private owned store, and he said it was corporate. After I asked for the managers name he hung up on me, and would not answer the phone. To the owners: today is August 25, 2023. Please check your cameras to the time frames I mentioned above. This behavior needs to stop. It is getting out of control, and the managers in the front don’t care to do anything about it clearly. You will be extremely shocked I assure you it is so sad that these employees have adopted this attitude in the store especially working with food with attitudes like that it makes you wonder what else...
