The worst food I have ever put in my mouth. I am not a picky man when food is involved. I usually finish my plate even if im not 100% satisfied or, even in a few cases, 50% satisfied. I even finish my wife's when she is finished or isn't satisfied with the way hers turned out.
She ordered a salad with grilled chicken on top. The chicken was raw in the middle and couldn't be eaten. I decided on the chicken fried steak because I wasn't feeling a burger and hadn't had one in a while. It came out and looked delicious. After cutting off the first bite and chewing on it, I didn't really like the taste but was going to try to eat it anyway. After cutting another chunk out, I realized that I still haven't even gotten to the steak. The breading was so thick and chewy that there was just a little pocket in the middle where the steak about the size of a 1/4 lb patty was just loosely sitting. I dumped it out of this so-called breading and thought well I can just eat the meat part. Now I absolutely love beef and will not leave any behind whatsoever. If I am getting full, I will leave everything else but will finish beef. I ate 2 bites of this steak trying to force it down and absolutely couldn't do it. One of my sons ordered chicken strips, so I tried 1 of those. The breading didn't have a good flavor at all, and the chicken was tough, so it couldn't be eaten. My other son ordered a burger. He tried to eat half of it, which is about all he usually eats, but he couldn't. I tried to eat just the patty from the other half, like I would normally do, and the flavor was awful, burned on the outside, and middle was tough.
There were several other things that were awful about the experience, but I will just stop with this. I have had not so good experiences before, but I am not the type to just go on social media and report bad things because I am a positive person. I have never reported negative experiences I've had, I even give some not so good experience places a second chance. Sometimes, it turns out good, or if not, I just don't go anymore. This experience was just so bad all the way around that I thought it should be shared.
I will give something positive. The mashed potatoes and the side salad I had were decent,...

I’ve been a loyal patron of Snuffer’s since the mid-80s, back when Pat Snuffer himself was at the helm. The burgers, the atmosphere, and those iconic cheddar fries were the heart and soul of the place. Unfortunately, everything began to change after the 2013 bankruptcy when Firebird Restaurant Group, the owner of El Fenix, took over. This wasn’t just a takeover; Firebird aggressively pursued Pat Snuffer, forcing him to close his other ventures, effectively shutting down his presence in the Dallas restaurant scene.
The menu, once full of unique items like spinach quesadillas and the beloved burger of the month, has been stripped down. In 2021, they introduced random items like meatloaf with a sweet ketchup glaze and mac and cheese, but these felt out of place. By August 2024, the menu had been cut by 70%, with prices skyrocketing. Cheddar fries now come in only two sizes, costing up to $17 with toppings. Fried mushrooms are offered only in one size, with different breading that doesn’t match the original taste.
The once-popular burgers are now served on stale, thick buns that lack the signature poppy seed flavor. The crispy chicken, now tough and over-breaded, further highlights the decline.
The Greenville, Texas location is a mess. Dust and cobwebs cover the blinds and windowsills, and the bar area is visibly neglected. It’s a sad sight to see a place that once held so much charm and nostalgia being run into the ground. Firebird Restaurant Group has taken what was once a thriving local favorite and turned it into a shell of its former self. Snuffer's...
Read moreLet me start by saying as soon as you enter the establishment you are greeted with smiles and hellos from any staff in the vicinity. I was given my choice of seating (which I appreciate) and chose a booth by the bar. Tracy (Tracie?) Immediately asked me what I wanted to drink and quickly returned with it. She then asked me what I would like to eat I am an indecisive individual and her knowledge of the menu and pairing it with my cravings was impeccable. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. My food came out within 10 minutes of ordering it as I mentioned I was on a timeline and I could tell immediately the ingredients were fresh. The burger was hot, juicy and cooked perfectly with the appropriate ratio of toppings. The flavor was exactly as a burger should be: minimal seasoning allowing the flavor of the meat to stand out. The fries were clearly fresh cut served hot. Only recommendation would be on salting the fries a bit more. (personal preference) what truly stood out was the astounding service. Tracy actually seemed genuinely interested in the short conversation we had and made me feel right at home. Come to find out she was the manager and as fate would have it the district manager was on site as well. To conclude this long-winded review for those of you who skip to the end, this is an establishment I would highly recommend to friends, family and coworkers. Did not use the bathroom but I imagine it was a spotless as the rest of the restaurant....
