Meli-Melo in Greenwich, CT is a French crepe spot first and foremost. They also specialize on breakfast and brunch. There’s a reason for that! #Deliciousness
Our experiences with Meli-Melo had been fantastic up until the visit that we’re writing about today. No big deal though… we just had to ask for a slice of lemon for the smoked salmon… a good three times. It was a slow Sunday too, which is why we were kind of surprised by it.
The food was delicious as always. Here's what we had during one of our last visits:
Orange, Pineapple, Kiwi | From the Juice Bar: Tasted exactly the way you’d expect it to taste! Fresh, fruity and packed with flavor. We’d order this again, for sure!
Coffee: This cup of coffee was delicious! It was so smooth and didn’t need milk. All it needed was a Splenda and a half! Can you believe that? Normally, in order to deal with the taste of diner coffee, I go overboard on the milk and sugar, but here? It’s as if we’re legit on France, enjoying a coffee from the perfect bakery.
Egg White Omelet with Spinach and Swiss Cheese | House Salad, Croutons: Yummy and healthy all at the same time! The salad is dressed nicely. The crostinis were nice. A little more toasted than I would have liked, but the texture was appreciated. I wish they had buttered and salted them prior to toasting… But it was delicious. #nbd The egg white omelet was surprisingly delicious. Egg whites are tough to prepare but this time around, they were seasoned nicely. I was worried that there was going to be a whole lot of water buildup because of how much moisture spinach normally releases. Good news: Not a drop in sight, so it was perfect. How the heck did they do that?? The Swiss Cheese was just the right amount. Probably two slices total. Definitely aromatic and wonderful. It was melted right through, gooey and stringy, the way I love it.
Smoked Salmon: The smoked salmon went very well with the omelette, which is why we ordered it! They gave about three ounces for four dollars. Not bad. Added another layer of saltiness and an awesome layer of smokiness to breakfast. Wonderful.
Bottom line: We frequent Meli-Melo a whole lot, especially when the weather is nice and they open up the doors to give us an outdoorsey feel.
Breakfast/Brunch is really popular at this spot. A great way to kick of a weekend in New...

Not only is the food incredibly mediocre (at best), the experience was horrible. Our dog barked once IN RESPONSE TO THE OTHER DOG HOWLING AT THE NEXT TABLE, and immediately someone came out and told us that our dog cannot bark. Said absolutely nothing to the other table.
Then, as we were feeding our HUMAN BABY pieces of crepe, they came out and told us, “I’m sorry but you cannot feed your dog on our patio”. We were completely confused by what they meant— and then figured out that they must have seen us break off pieces of crepe for the baby? We were truly astonished that they thought we were feeding our dogs, especially when it was clear that the baby was there as they had brought out a high chair for him, we had ordered an entire crepe for the baby (in addition to the two dishes for me and my husband), and the baby was not hidden in any way.
Even as the other dog barked throughout our meal, they said absolutely nothing. We counted at least eight different times when the dog next to us was howling. And then our dog responded ONCE. And immediately, the staff came straight to us and said again, your dog cannot bark on our patio. NO MENTION WHATSOEVER OF THE OTHER DOG GOING OFF NEXT TO US. The owners continued to eat in peace as we were interrupted. We have no idea why the owners with the dog barking wasn’t addressed— they were clearly staring straight at them and the dog barking.
Maybe it’s because we are from Manhattan and looked out of place and clearly not locals? Either way, the targeted selective rudeness is...
Read more5 ⭐️ for food presentation - my children especially loved the three crepes and there were lots of menu options. I have a wheat and dairy allergy. I ordered three different crepes and said at least 3 times that everything needed to be gluten-free and also dairy free. When the food arrived, we dug in and when the server came to check how everything was, I asked to confirm it was all gluten free. He said, after a long pause, “no, it’s not.. I’m so sorry, I was mistaken.” He proceeded to offer to remake 1 of the 3 crepes (the untouched one). I am disappointed because it was a pricey meal, which was delicious but I was allergic to all of the items served to us after explicitly communicating 3 times the allergies and ordering gluten and dairy free items. Not intolerant, not food preferences but food allergies. There was no offer of compensation or a discount for the massive oversight and no real apology. I am disappointed as this place was adorable and the food was tasty but I will also now deal with physical side effects from...
