I came here 12/22/19 and I received my bill at 11:30am. After getting my bill I put down a $3.50 tip on a $32.44 meal, before I event had time to sign the receipt my server Celina said, "If you don't like the service you don't have to tip.” I was a bit taken aback by that line, as the tip I left wasn’t the best but was still over 10%. Before I could say anything she again reiterated, “If you didn’t like the service you don’t have to tip.” Then walked off. So, I took her advice and decided that now I wasn’t going to tip if she was so insulted by my tip. I took all the receipts, since I had paid the restaurant already and didn’t trust her not to change the tip line, and then she came back and wanted the receipts all the while repeating the same like over and over. Further she decided she needed to talk to all my relatives about my tip. When I said, “If you didn’t want a tip I’m not giving you one” she tried to explain, “Oh I didn’t meant to offend you.” All the while complaining about the tip. When I repeatedly asked for her manager, somehow she didn’t wanna get anyone. So I went to another server and spoke with a manger, who was very apologetic and claimed that this wasn’t acceptable, but Celina suddenly seemed hard to find.
While I was given two coupons for a free entree on a return visit by Celina’s manager, I’m not sure it’s worth returning, as I really don’t want to have a waitress throw a fit over a dollar or two on the tip line. I’d rather get breakfast at McDonald's down the street then have to deal with a waitress going ballistic over a normal interaction. Don’t take your family here either if you want a...
Read moreThe hostess took us to a table to be seated. I kindly asked her if we could please sit at the empty booth next to the table because I have seven herniated discs in my back. I tried to explain the wood chairs cause me a lot of pain. She said no and walked away. She wouldn't even look at me. I wanted to just leave but my wife and kids were too hungry. I got a cushion from the car in the hopes that I could sit long enough to eat a meal. Our server had a mask on but it was easy to see that she was not in a good mood. To make matters worse, she was annoyed with my wife's accent and was rushing her. I was hoping the food would make up for the poor service. It came out quickly but the food was disappointing, to say the least. The bacon is thick-cut but it was so undercooked it was floppy and had lots of rubbery fat. By the time I ate half of the first piece my back was in so much pain I couldn't continue. I tried to eat a bite of my scrambled eggs. I like a little cheese on my eggs, but these were the other way around. They had so much cheese on them it had become a giant greasy mess. My kids ordered the pancake breakfast but was also a disappointment. It consisted of two huge pancakes and one piece of bacon. Even with minimal syrup none of them could eat half before feeling sick. We paid $50 for a breakfast none of us could eat half of and then we couldn't take the kids to play because my back was in extreme pain thanks to people who don't care about the customer. This was our first time here...
Read moreI covet the food and atmospheres inside of the Centennial/Greenwood Village Benedict’s in south metro Denver for more reasons than one. One can help to hear the voices of pretension, in a breakfast restaurant such as Benedict’s; Yet, those murmurs fade in comparison to the overall joy in the voices of the restaurant. Picking up snippets of conversations feels natural when the food is consistently correct and affordable. Being satisfied with the plate is just part one of service. The Service is without question, most pleasant. Closing the deal, is atmosphere. I have felt that on any given day we are hearing lovers celebrate a successful sneak around, a NFL player being hired, and an exchange of millions in Tesla Stock. That’s the extension of my imagination, really. And, it’s also true. The atmosphere here is courteously speak easy. The entire package from door to door is a fine event. There may be better “this” or better “that”menu items, but where it counts Benedict’s has it. Benedict’s Denver is my choice for dine-in comfort. I would dare to say that everyone from world leaders to the underworlds’ most dangerous henchmen would find a booth and politely eat breakfast or brunch and go about there day satisfied at the Bang for you Buck breakfast experience. Thank you Benedict’s. The Eggs Benedict continue to be a favorite when I am...
