Desert Donuts — Restaurant in Greenwood Village

Absolutely worth the drive from CoS for the service and donuts. We were greeted by the owners once we walked through the door and we're introduced to the menu by one of the staff.

I THOUGHT I wasn't a fan of cake donuts, but Dessert Donuts has completely changed my mind. I wasn't a fan of cake donuts like Duck Donuts because it was so thick and dense, but Desert Donuts changed my mind. These donuts are so light and fluffy!! Even with toppings on them they are still so light and fluffy and even with a little crust for a bit of a crisp bite. It doesn't make sense, but it's the most perfect cake donut I've ever had.

I was hesitant to try it. My family all tried the bowls and I got a the Gopher Garry which was a cinnamon sugar covered topped with cream cheese, to kinda stay safe in case I wasn't a fan. It tasted like a chirro! It was so freaking good. It made me wish I would have order the bowl!

Luckily, my hubs shared his OMG Bowl Deluxe bowl with me. It was a donut topped with egg, gravy, and cheese. Yeah, I know; it sounds like a lot, but the donuts holds up! It doesn't make sense. It tastes so freaking good. We were also honored to be served by one of the owners!

My girls tried the Mountain Maple Bowls, which is a play on chicken and waffles and the chicken is actually really seasoned well. My son tried the Groovy Bowl, which is like chicken and waffles, but with gravey and bacon crumbles... so yummy! Not a crumb was left. The donuts are made to order and so fresh. Not to mention, the owners came back and check up on us and let us try two more donuts and some donut pies!

We left fully content, but still wanting more and ready to come back. If you are in the area, take advantage of this place, because I wish I could! The owners said they are trying to open a spot in Castle Rock in the future. I hope they do soon! 🙌🏽

I kept wanting to write a review and kept forgetting… so here comes way-overdue, but so well-deserved 5-star rating! I don’t even know where to start! The menu is amazing and has so many varieties of donuts, even “salty” ones: the fried chicken and friend chicken with chile verde (found under Donut Meals) were the bomb! I like my donuts sweet but on a third day here (in a row!), I tried the bowls and wow! I would definitely have them again! I have hard time deciding what to get when the menu is long and if you’re like me, ask the friendly staff for help. They sure have a ton of options. Or just go with “Lizard Larry” - it became my staple add-on (if you like raspberry jam, try this one). And yes, I said add-on, because you can’t have just one of these delicious, warm, made-in-front-of-you cake donuts! And while the gluten free aren’t made right in front of you, they are also to die for! I can eat gluten but I tried the gluten free literally even plain, without anything on it, and I loved it. My whole family actually loved it so we ended up getting a round of gluten-free donuts on one occasion 😅🤷‍♀️ Can’t wait to be back for another vacation! Desert...

I LOVE doughnuts. I travel the world/all over the country looking for the best ones. Every city I end up in, I test the highest rated doughnuts and these are absolutely incredible! First of all- the concept itself is so fun! Of course you can select from the menu and make it simple (all amazing choices too) or create your own. The doughnuts itself are a perfect texture, not too sweet which is why the savory options work well.

We did a little bit of both and had so much fun with the team making them. The customer service was great; the input on flavors was spot on and they put eye balls and extra frosting for my kids!

Greenwood Village is so lucky to have this new spot. It’s perfect for a fun family outing, to bring to a party, etc! Something for everyone. A few highlights are ANYthing Maple! The coffee cake, Cinnamaple, the beast, blueberry cheesecake…. I could keep going! Also, even on day 3, a few seconds in the microwave and they were good as new!
