We have been to this Walk-On's several times as we really like the food. Our LAST visit was this past Saturday (Nov. 4, 2023). We knew that it would be crowded because of the LSU game, so we went early with hopes of getting done eating and on our way before the game started. Well, that didn't happen. Our server was Blake. After being seated as far from the bar as we could get, we waited for a longer than normal time for Blake to come take our drink order. Once we had drinks, we place our food order. No apps, just wanted to eat and go, so we ordered a couple chicken sandwiches, with my wife requesting mustard instead of the spicy mayo that comes on it. After ordering we tried to hold a conversation over the loud music as best as we could. Food took a little longer than normal but they were sort of busy and of course, when the food did arrive and after the person brought it form the kitchen had left, my wife noticed her sandwich had that spicy mayo on it. Then the game was getting ready to come on, so off course they cranked up the noise twice as loud as it was. I am talking about almost deafening. I turned my hearing aids to off and it was still too loud. My wife ate what she could of her sandwich and then we had to wait until Blake finally came back to check on us. Over the noise, I let Blake know that we did not appreciate not being checked on from time to time. When I said something about the kitchen sending out her sandwich wrong, I was told I should have said something and they would have made another sandwich. I told Blake had you come by to ask how the food was, you would have been notified that the kitchen messed up, but that did not happen because you disappeared until after we had finished eating. I paid the full bill with the pre-entered 18% tip, (I should have tapped the 0%) and headed to the door, but we stopped to speak with Jason the Manager. I explained that I know this is a sports bar, but it is also a family restaurant and that people actually do come there for the food and not necessarily just to watch a football game and drink. There was no reason to increase the loudness of the music just because LSU fans were in the bar. I also explained that if our server Blake would have checked in every now and then, we could have possibly fixed the messed up order, paid the bill, and been gone before the noise was increased. Of course we got the normal apology and was told that he would pull the dining ticket and credit us. I told him I wasn't looking for a free meal, just an enjoyable dinner with the wife that did not happen because of loud music and a terrible server. We are done with this Walk-On's location. They evidently are looking for a younger rowdier crowd and do not care about senior citizens. What what Drew do if he knew? Hopefully he cares enough to read this review and take...
Read moreI have ate here many times since they opened up along with my husband and other family. The service was always GREAT. Never had an issue until tonight when I called to place a to go order on the phone. I ordered the crawfish two ways, boom boom shrimp, and BEFORE I the order for pastalaya was put in I stated not once BUT, TWICE after saying if this was the pasta that had sausage I didn’t want. I stated I wanted the pasta with shrimp in it. I couldn’t quite think of the name right then. But I explained it snd she said oh no that’s pastalaya and I said pastalaya comes with shrimp? She ended up getting a little upset with me saying I asked and you agreed to the pastalaya which I did not as I stated I don’t wNt the pasta with sausage and she already sent the order back and wasn’t very nice. She asked if that would complete the order and I said yes. I’m a mom of three kids (one having autism). I been serving since I was 17 and I’m almost 30. I have never talked to nobody like that over the phone. I told her I would never talk to anyone like that. I asked for a manager and she stated they were busy. I never thought I’d experience something like this as I’m very patient and nice. However after tonight I won’t be ordering from here anymore or at least for awhile. I even ate here with my bridal party before and have referred this place to many people. I just felt it wasn’t very professional. I was just ordering something quick to feed my family and felt this could’ve been handled better. Another thing cutting a customer off who is trying to talk is...
Read moreWent to Walk On’s in Hammond. The service was poor! When I asked for a margarita, the waitress offered me a margarita skinny. I almost asked her was she insinuating that I needed a skinny vs. a regular. I was charged a pre authorization charge on my card for the amount of the check which is not policy. In addition to the pre authorization charge, I was charged the actual amount which included the tip. This was my second time going, but definitely my last. I called my bank and they said it was the way the restaurant processed my payment with a pre authorization. It’s going to be almost a week before my funds are available to me. I guess I looked as though I couldn’t afford my check and that’s why it was pre authorized. The first time I went, the bayou pasta was awful. No sauce whatsoever. The first time we went was after my sons graduation and I know my family spent at least $600 total if not more but we couldn’t be sat together. They said they don’t accommodate large parties. However, there were other large parties there. My husband said he didn’t like the service when we went after my son’s graduation. Being that it was my son’s special night, I didn’t pay much attention to the service on that occasion. However, I’ve never been treated like this at a restaurant. There was no attempt at a resolution. The manager refused to speak to me on several occasions when I complained about the double charge. I wouldn’t recommend this...
