I’ve been to this E Market location on multiple occasions & have always been pleased, but today was a different story. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but after asking for the situation to be fixed, I was incredibly disappointed and will likely never return.
I ordered a custom sandwich online for pick up- specifically chicken sausage, pepper Jack cheese, scrambled egg, red onion, Mayo, s & p on two biscuits. After I picked it up and opened it up, I realized it only had the chicken sausage and pepper Jack cheese, nothing else. I called to see if I could either get my money back or to see if they would replace it. After finding the order to reference, the lady I spoke with on the phone said that I didn’t pay for the egg & that’s why it wasn’t on my sandwich. Confused, I told her I ordered online so I paid when I submitted the order; she then told me to bring the receipt back in and they would remake it.
I was within five minutes so I drove back pretty much immediately, and when I went in, I was explaining the situation again to the cashier and another woman from the back completely interrupted, held the receipt from their end up in front of my face, and told me I didn’t pay for the egg. I again explained that I paid online and I wasn’t sure how I didn’t pay for the egg, but regardless of the egg, the only thing on my sandwich was the sausage and cheese (no Mayo, no red onion, no s&p). She huffed and went to the back and I overheard her & the cook complaining (loudly) that if the item wasn’t paid for, it wasn’t going on the sandwich. They then realized I also didn’t pay for the cheese (??) & continued to go on a tangent loud enough for me to hear. After probably 10-15 minutes, I finally got my “corrected” sandwich.
When I got back to work, I opened my sandwich up & the biscuits were absolutely crumbled. I literally could not pick the sandwich up without it falling completely apart. This time it did have the egg, chicken sausage, and cheese, but nothing else. No Mayo, no red onion, no salt & pepper. I felt as though it was intentional. I was upset, lost my appetite, and didn’t have the energy to go deal with the staff again so I took a few bites and then just threw it away.
I understand this location is quite busy and things can get overlooked, but this was unacceptable. It seems as though the online ordering system is messed up and that’s how my egg & cheese weren’t charged to my card (I’ve attached photos), but I shouldn’t be held responsible and made a fool for asking for my sandwich to be fixed. I would’ve paid...
Read moreCame here on the recommendation of a friend but was disappointed by one of the worst customer experiences I’ve had, not only at a restaurant but anywhere. I ordered a large coffee and a 1/2 dozen bagels (free 7th bagel included). I requested for one of the bagels to be toasted and the woman taking my order, who had already left me unimpressed by an overall unwelcoming, impatient demeanor, proceeded to tell me this could not be done. So they have a toaster and they toast bagels, but they can’t toast one of the bagels that I just purchased. Instead she tells me it would be a separate charge, that I would have to order an additional bagel. I said this makes no sense, and that all I wanted was one of the bagels toasted for my breakfast, and wanted to take the other 6 home. This simply could not be done due to ‘store policy’. Absolutely absurd. This woman, if she is in a position of authority, should be immediately demoted at the very least, or fired altogether. Definitely retrained on customer service etiquette. And if this is actually a store policy, then that is even more absurd and one of the least beneficial policies and most useless, either to business or patron, I’ve ever heard of. So I didn’t even get my bagels or coffee and decided to ask for a refund instead. She gave me only a portion of my refund, and then said she thought I still wanted my coffee. I also had to ask for the $1 tip I gave on the p.o.s back. I was so disappointed by this experience, it left me befuddled and feeling like I was in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I just wanted a bagel toasted with cream cheese man. What has the...
Read moreThis location always has long lines, the food is mediocre yet I will go there if I don't feel like making my own breakfast. I will call ahead of time and place a to go order. This morning I called and when I said I wanted to place a to go order the employee responded with, we are only taking in store and online orders. My response, "well, you just lost a customer." When business is "that good," that you can't serve the customer, you loose that customer. That response caused me to make my own breakfast. I will never step in that store again. Response to owners response: There is nowhere in my review that I state I was denied service. Although I was denied the service of placing an order over the phone. I do not do online orders (required by all of the options Mr. J's listed), I will not submit my financial information online (anyone educated in computer operations knows the hacking risks), therefore the option of calling ahead to place an order so I don't have to wait in the long line that Mr. J's also refers to, was taken away. And I'm not sure how wasted food is an issue if the online order is paid for, Mr. J's got paid, the customer showed up - but that situation doesn't apply to my situation. Business is good, so much so Mr. J's can remove a customers preferred method of ordering, that is the stores perogative. And it is the customers perogative not to do what Mr. J's dictates if it goes against the way they do business - there are too many other businesses that don't have the long lines and limited...
