Sushi is mediocre. Meat dishes are great. Appetizers are a bit overpriced. Fake crab. Service was terrible. MSG. Changed my tip amount from $1, to $10.
Firstly, there is no good sushi here. At all. To suggest that this is even moderately good sushi is insulting. If you dont believe me, hop next door to Lee's Market or drive down to Smith's Grocery Store and get some sushi from there. It's the same quality. That is NOT a good thing. So don't expect to roll into rural Heber City Utah of all places and magically find good shushi. But if you do, stick to the deep fried rolls, it's a 50/50 chance on messing those up.
However, all that being said. They have other great food here. Their sweet n sour chicken is my favorite of the other Asian restruants here. Just about any of their meat dish are great really. The shrimp & vegetable tempera appatizer is the best dish this place has to offer but at $7.50+ it's overpriced, in my opinion.
My most recent visit, my partner and I were basically ignored and had to get their attention to do anything. Refills, check, everything. Put a $1 tip on the check and they changed it to $10. Did you honestly think we weren't going to notice? Highly illegal and if this happens again the cops will accompany me when I come in so we can explain how fraud works. Take out and no tips from here on out.
My avid sushi people, stay away from the sushi and you won't leave here disappointed, or at least not robbed... Unless you want to remember what poor quality ingredients and too much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA great Asian and sushi restaurant in downtown Heber! It was a clean dining area, fast service and good food. We ordered a bunch of sushi rolls and a lunch portion of orange chicken. The rolls were delicious, well prepared and fresh! The nigiri has a few pieces of hard rice in them, but nothing too bad. The rolls we tried were snow crab and avocado, Utah (of course), some yellowtail and a very delicious roll called a Hawaiian. It was almost like a dessert roll with mango, fish eggs and a creamy sauce. Got to try it.
Roll prices are competitive to other places in Utah county, but they have a section of rolls that are $5 each and another section of rolls that are 50% off, making them around $7-$8 if you just want to add some rolls to another meal. Rolls on the ādiscountā menu are just as complex, beautiful and delicious as the $15 rolls. The lunch portion of orange chicken was just as good as the sushi! So if you have a person in the group (our kids) that doesn't enjoy sushi, there are still plenty of dishes for them to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal customer at Ichiban for years and have always loved the miso soup and sushiāitās been one of my favorite spots in Heber. I usually eat here multiple times a week, so it really disappoints me to have to write this. On more than one occasion, Iāve found hair in my soup. Today, we picked up egg drop soup to go and was disturbed to find two black hairs in it. As a platinum blonde, I know these werenāt mine. Unfortunately, this isnāt the first time itās happened, which makes it even more concerning. I want to be clear: Iām only writing this because I truly value this restaurant and want to keep coming here. But food safety and cleanliness need to be addressed. If this issue can be taken care of, I would be more than happy to update this review...
