Quesabirria's — Restaurant in Heber

After Los Tapatios in Herriman I thought I was sold on Barria. Unfortunately, Quesabirria's fails to live up to the hype. Granted, this place feels very authentic so I might not be the target audience but here's my take as a American in his late 30's with an open mind.

Food: Meh. Without salt to enhance flavor, it's hard to say if the seasoning profile is on the mark or not. Salt packets are available but there's a big difference between salt added after the fact and Birria marinated in a salty consume.

Menu: this place serves tacos, fries, and ramen. No quesadillas, enchiladas, or burritos. Surprisingly limited.

Service: it was 8pm on a Saturday so maybe the staff was burned out but there was so little effort put into even the smallest act of service such as saying hello that I was unsurprised by...

The cashier/server was very helpful and pleasant and even offered a sample of the birria meat and juice to me. I had to use what little bit of Spanish I did know to communicate with the cashier/server and that was okay for me as it was practice. The tables and seats could be cleaned more often and the bathrooms are more clean than the lobby area, but no biggie if short staffed. The Mexican pizza was extremely delicious surprisingly with or without the birria dipping juice. Everything we ordered was delicious and the meat wasn't bland and neither was it overly salty. A delicious hidden gem in Heber city!! I’m pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. The birria was soft, juicy, and flavorful. The consome wasn’t excessively greasy which is great!! Just the perfect amount for a good flavor. I got their quesabirria combo and it was perfectly filling. We also tried the charro beans and they were excellent!! The restaurant itself could use a little tidying up in the lobby area, but I could see the workers trying their best at cleaning up/taking out trash while manning the register.
