The Mason Jar Coffee & Gelato — Restaurant in Helen

(tourist review!) Very small and cozy coffee shop with kind baristas and what I just believe is a thoughtful business! :)

There are a good amount of coffee shops within Helen, but after looking through many websites and reviews I was still drawn back to The Mason Jar Coffee & Gelato.

I'm visiting from San Diego and I felt like I was kinda back home. I had good vibes and the people working there were chill and cool. I'm actually glad I went there since I was the only customer at the time, I walked around the downtown area and passed by a competing coffee shop that was jammed pack. (Around 8-9am)

I had a hot chai latte, and it was delicious! They have lots of seasonal items and I recommend looking at their menu posted online on their website, especially if you like to know ahead of time exactly what you want to order like I do! I loved that it mentions how they incorporate local produce into their menu items, and that they share what ingredients they have available to craft the special drink you want if it's not on their menu.

Space inside is limited, but outside seating is available with tables and chairs right out the door. Open...

Atmosphere: The space is really small and cozy. I love the dark green accents and the shelving that held coffee beans and other items they had for sale! Service: The workers here were constantly busy because there was always a line out the door! The experience wasn’t the most personable, but again, it could have been because of the busyness. Menu items: The coffee here is SO good! I had the Maple Pancake latte with oatmilk 2x when I was on the trip and ended up getting blueberry cheesecake gelato when I was there. I love it when they put the little waffles on top!

This shop has such good coffee and gelato! I went at least once a day for every day that I stayed in Helen. I’m a huge fan of coffee and can definitely say that you should go here. Not only was the coffee perfect for my coffee addiction, but also for the delicious taste and quality, overall ambiance of the place, incredibly friendly staff, great prices, and variety of options. I can’t have much dairy but they have dairy alternative milks. They also have sugar free flavors and use paper compostable straws. As goes for the gelato my family loves it! They have a variety of flavors including salted caramel, peach cobbler, and black forest chocolate. The gelato had a very creamy taste, pure flavor, and smooth texture.
