I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like people deserve to know what theyâre walking into. This hotel was extremely disappointing. Our room was dirty, the bathroom was horrid, and there was a terrible smell that lingered throughout the entire space. Who wants to take a shower after a long day out, only to feel even more gross afterward?
For the price we paid, this place is absolutely not worth it. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is convenient. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. The entire property reeked of cigarettes, and cigarette butts were scattered literally everywhere.
To make things even worse, just after 7pm, while my husband, kids, and I were quietly playing a game in our room, there was a knock on our door from a 10 year old little girl delivering a noise complaint. I was shocked. She looked terrified, and honestly, I felt so bad for her. As annoyed as I was, I just said âokay, thank youâ and shut the door. But letâs be so real â it is completely unacceptable and unsafe to send a child to guestsâ rooms for any reason, you never know who's going to be on the inside of that hotel room and I can't understand why they would even chance anything with that little girl!
The walls are paper thin; I was woken up multiple times throughout the night from other guests just talking. It wasnât anyoneâs fault â thatâs just how poorly the building is insulated. It also seems like many people live here long-term, which is fine, but paying guests should not be placed directly next to permanent residents. We were complained about twice by someone who clearly lives there, even though we were being respectful.
Imagine spending over $500 for a short weekend getaway with your family, only to feel like you have to sit in silence in your own room. It was unfair and left a really bad impression.
This place truly has so much potential if management would just care enough to make improvements â deep clean the rooms, remodel the bathrooms, upgrade the furniture, separate permanent residents from short-term guests, and ensure proper staff (not children!) handle guest interactions.
Until those things change, I would not recommend...
Read moreThis was one of the only places I've stayed that I feel conflicted on reviewing. There were positives and negatives that for us balanced out kind of evenly. So I'm just going to be very thorough in case it helps others make a decision.
Positives: -Location relativity to town is fabulous -Staff was literally ALWAYS smiling and friendly and willing to help in any way -Family owned and operated -HUGE bathtub within the room -More hot water than any hotel I've ever been to which was amazing so we could actually ENJOY the huge bathtub. We never ran out of hot water. -after hours staff if anything were to go wrong -AC control over your own room, and it blows cold for sure. -Lots of on site parking -The restaurant right across the street was outstanding and such an easy walk to and from
Negatives: -Priced much higher than the quality of the room, especially because of an event in town -No bells and whistles or updates whatsoever in the rooms other than the big tub... Carpet, fixtures, bed and shower were dated, basic, and stained. -The room was visibly cleaned - but not with much attention to detail. Felt like a routine was executed and anything outside of that routine wasn't noticed by the cleaning staff. (Example: my husband sat on the couch and when he got up there was melted chocolate stuck to his clothes from whoever was before us. I would assume they dropped a piece while eating on the couch which went unnoticed by staff and we just assumed it would be clean so he didn't bother doing a thorough scan before sitting)
So. Overall- We felt safe. We felt welcomed. There were no creepy crawlies. We were in a great location in regards to town. BUT it was basic with minor damages and more expensive than it was worth. If I coud book here far ahead where I'd likely have better pricing--- And if I was adventuring a lot in town and basically only using the room for sleep--- then I would stay here again. But if I were looking for a romantic getaway with lots of time spent within the room-...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here 26-29 DEC 24, and to be honest it was a very horrible experience. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, stores and many different attractions, but requires a heavy makeover. Upon arrival the room smelled like mold, smoke and ABC (ass-balls-connection). In the bathroom you could visually see dirt in the bathtub. We had an uncontrollable itch throughout our first night due to dirty sheets. After a second look we saw dog hair in the bed and that was a forcing function for us to go to dollar general for cleaning supplies and new sheets. We expressed our concerns with the lady at the front desk and learned that they were already aware of the lack of cleanliness and had already received complaints from others. The cleaning ladies were very lazy and did not come to clean our room once on our trip so we decided to place the Do Not Disturb sign on the door our last day there. This hotel is an independently owned establishment that doesn't take military discount and the cleaning staff are friends with the owner. Also, there were a few drunk guys and their friends outside our hotel door drunk and loud throughout the night into the morning everyday we were there. There was also a sign in the lobby that stated no dogs were allowed and if animals were found on the premises guest would be charged $500. Although that sign was up many guest still had dogs with them. I feel as though there was no point in having a sign that stated no dogs if they were going to allow guest to have them. We have no problem with animals being allowed in the hotel however if animals are going to be allowed the staff need to make sure that all rooms are cleaned properly to ensure people with allergies to animals and any allergies in general are not itching all night in a place that they had spent their hard earned money to stay! Overall we will not be returning to this establishment and would encourage anyone who is considering staying here...
