Do it right, and the Chattahoochee River running though Helen, GA has its positives but here are some tips: 🚗 About 1.5 hours from Atlanta 👉 Come on a weekday if possible ☝️ If a weekend, be the first on on the river to avoid insane tubing traffic jams 🥢 Absolutely have a tubing pole to keep you off the many rocks 🤷‍♂️ If they tell you “we recommend the hour trip”, that’s code for don’t waste your time because the already low water level is even lower. 😌 Beginner river, mostly shallow but has a few deeper parts to use as a swimming hole 🌉 After you go under the 2nd bridge, there is a rock to the left to jump off into deeper waters If you stick to the above, you’ll have a nice time shooting the hooch. Otherwise, get ready to be bumper to bumper on a tube.
