The Wildewood Shop — Local services in Helen

Shop had a lot of cool items, but nothing you couldn’t find in another shop around the square. The staff was incredibly rude 🥴 they have a blanket display and there are signs that say “don’t unfold the blankets” and “ask for assistance”. My son wanted one of the blankets so I grabbed one off of the display because the signs read like they just didn’t want people messing up blankets they weren’t gonna buy. When I got to the checkout the lady was very nasty and I apologized and explained my reasoning and then apologized AGAIN and she was just very very ugly to me. I wish I would have just left my stuff on the counter and taken my money elsewhere ($200+ worth of stuff!) and while I did end up buying what I had I will not ever be back and will warn others of this place. There’s PLENTY of other shops that carry the same stuff and have way nicer staff!! I wish I had read the Google reviews before going here because it’s clear other people have had similar...

Man do I love some good windchimes, and let me tell you this place has em. With an amazing selection of uniquely crafted bits and locally made bobs this is the kind of gift shop I was looking for. Wildewood doesn't have any of that mumbo jumbo copy and paste junk you see every other tourist get on the main street. This stuff is the real deal.

Don't even get me started on the staff. Those were the darn kindest hard working group of gals an old man like myself has seen haha. They asked my ol lady if she needed help with the jewelry (not that i could afford any hahaha). But on a real good note they were extremely kind and treated us real good ha.

We drove 7 hrs to get here specifically to buy windchimes. We checked the website for hours and arrived at 4pm, 2 hrs before closing. We arrived and there were at least 6 people inside but there were ropes blocking entry, signs up said shop was closed. We went around to the side (this is an open air shop), and told the woman we had just driven 7 hrs to get there and was the shop really closed. She said it was closed "today and tomorrow for reorganizing". She was so rude. No offer to help at all. We asked why it wasn't posted on the website and she just walked away. So we snapped a picture of the windchimes we wanted and ordered them online. No need to ever...
