We showed up during brunch hours on Sunday, and this is a sports bar in Hermosa Beach so we fully expected there to be a crowd of folks watching the game (totally fine with us). What we did not expect was to be treated like we were less important just because we were not watching the game. My friends and I were not given access to a physical menu (also fine with us) so we relied on the digital menu from a QR code at the table - this menu is exactly the same as the one that you can see when you visit their website. For some reason the football game being on TV means that the brunch menu changes? Specifically it means that you cannot order the bottomless mimosas advertised on all of their menus. This did not make sense to us because that is the only part of the menu that changes and that is not specified anywhere. Because that was the reason we chose to go to this business, all I wanted was to ask some clarifying questions to our waitress (Natalie). First, I asked if this was going to be the case during any Sunday sporting event, which would mean that this item is pretty much never available, and she said she didn't know (that is fair, not a big deal). The problem was that this was the reason we came, but we decided to give you our business any way and just try other things your menu had to offer. Unfortunately, after this interaction Natalie could not be compelled to treat us with any decency. I tried to ask her another question, and she walked away in the middle of my sentence without a word. I'm sure its easy to read this and feel like I gave her a distasteful attitude that provoked this response, but to that all I can say is that I highly value members of the service industry work force and still tipped her 20% because that is what I believe in. I asked the question again when she brought us our food because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, and even though I got a response this time it was less than polite. During our meal she rarely checked on us, and at no point did she even attempt to make suggestions from the menu that may have been a good substitute for the mimosas we came for. I don't work in the food industry, and I don't know what the policies and/or management roles are at your business, but my only suggestions would be to advertise recurring changes to the menu that are influenced by specific events (I feel like you could easily specify on your menu that mimosas are not served during sporting events), and maybe encourage a more professional approach to questions among your staff. I can tell you I would not have chosen your business for our outing if I had known about this menu change, and I can say this this experience makes me unlikely to choose your business over the many other in the area. Beyond that, all I can say is that I hope any of this information matters to you or your...
Read moreI never give one star reviews, I believe is my first ever. I ordered a beer and some food. I was very happy to be here. We had an outdoor table and the sun was setting .. Perfect. It was our first visit here. I was reaching for some food and accidentally spilled my beer with the side of my arm. The hostess came over to clean it up and said no problem we will get you another beer. I said great and she got my waiter who's name I believe is Ryan. His hair was up in a bun. He got the beer and when the bill came I got charged $12 for the beer plus food. It was $6 each beer. I reminded him I spilled my beer and was offered a complementary beer. He said let me speak with management and I will see if they will take it off. When he returned he said "Management Won't Budge so you have to pay" for the beer so I essentially paid $12 for One Beer. This left me with a bad taste in my mouth thinking all they care about is the dollar bills that go into their coffers. I am 60 years old and a very nice and polite person. Any other place where I or someone else has spilled a drink the restaurant says on problem, mistakes happen here is one on the house. I rarely drink and on average I have one beer a month. This month I had one and paid for two. I am not a kid who was drunk and going wild spilling beer all over. This actually makes me sad because I really liked going here but if the management could care less about their customers, its not a place I want to go to. Well there are plenty of other choices in Hermosa...
Read moreCame in and was not attended promptly. I have an infant and it took about 15 minutes to be attended. I was not attended until I got the attention of a server and she acted surprised. She took my order for drinks and came back saying that we would wait 35 minutes for food . A total of 50 minutes just to receive food and she came back empty handed with no drinks ?! What a joke of a server .They should really have a hostess to really guide people and let the servers know that people are waiting to be attended, on top of that they told me that they won't honor the daily specials because it's a holiday. As a business, you should be aware that people will hold you accountable for your prices and your advertisement. This company did not care and I spoke with the manager, and he seem not to care to make things right as well . Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere for memorial day weekend and the future with my family . We will not be coming back due to their lack of respect and customer service. I would think a business would care to keep and grow their customer base . Seems to me like this manager and business owner are blinded by money and greed don't care about building relationship with people of...
