Coni’Seafood — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

The Dinner That Never Was. Some advice...Don't open until you are ready. Regretably,I must leave this review about my most unfortunate experience of the newest iteration of Coni' Seafood. I can't comment fully on the food as my dinner never reached my table. The service was abhorantly lacking as there was only 1, maybe two servers working in the packed restaurant. It took 15 minutes for our table to recieve waters and our drinks. I had to hunt down the staff when we were finished to bring the check and a to go box. Our server was nice enough but the restaurant was woefully understaffed. Chips and salsa, if you could call it salsa, were brought to the table. The flavour profile was good enough tasting of spicey chile and lime, but the consisistancy was akin to water and the miniature sized bowl they served it in made it nearly impossible to get any of the substance to stay on the chip which was saltless and no salt was to be found on the tables. The menu is also curious in that they list apppetizers like ceviche and tacos around 24 dollars which is a similar price as there entres like fish and shrimp plates. We ordered a ceviche appetizer that had the same spicy liquid as the stuff they called salsa for the saltless chips. The ceviche was not great as there wasn't much seafood in it. The majority of it consisted of vegetables. I ordered the seabass for dinner. When the entres came to the table, mine wasn't present. 5 minutes later, I asked if he remembered my order to which he looked down nervously after saying yes. A couple of minutes later he came out and appologized that there was an issue with the seabass and asked if I would rather have something else, perhaps some tacos. At this point an hour into this nightmarish affair, I was utterly displeased and in no mood to wait around god knows how long to receive somethimg else. My party was ready to leave and as we sat there twiddeling our thumbs waiting for a check that woudn't come, I finally hunted down the staff to direct them...

Been a long-time fan on Coni at their original location so was very excited to see they cut down our drive by opening a location in Hermosa! Food and service were great and everything came out quickly so seems like they've worked through the opening jitters that the 2 star reviewer mentioned. If you order the snook it does take a little longer to come out since they have grill it fresh but it's worth the wait! Will definitely be...
