Playa Hermosa Fish & Oyster Co. — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

Came here about 445pm, on probably the slowest sunday. the person at the front desk with glasses was such a sweet guy and attentive. When I walked in there, within the whole place, there was 1 couple and a guy in the way back, pretty sure the woman was the manager based off how they spoke to their safe(for context) Pretty much ignored me the whole time. They looked at me and walked by plenty times, and at some point the guy helped. Then one other lady came in the dine in, and sat across from me and not even 2 secs after she was sat down she was greeted by one server and the manager that ignored me plenty times, she walked right by me and put Tabasco sauce and made sure she was taken care, the younger server wasn't even two secs from being away from the lady and she came tonher table, that attentiveness was not shown to me and i could feel it, was there Tabasco on my table nope, I don't post reviews much and this is probably my 2nd one that isn't positive it's 2025, please be more kinder and ATTENTIVE to all your customers, as there was litterally only 3 other people in your restaurant at the time, at which at one point 2 of you were talking to while i still hasnt been taken care of. I will not be back again which I'm sure they don't care, nor do I care to feel ignored. Try taking after your staff like the sweet young lady server as you yelled her coffee drink order repeatedly as she said " stop" at one point,or the kind gentleman in the front with the glasses, but in the end it's just maybe a time to reflect as to how you treat people, or just...

Joe the waiter is the BEST! And Ricardo! The food and service are always consistent here. We want to try other places, but always find ourselves here because the food and service is top notch!

Love this place so much! My hubby and I found this gem one day last year during a quick weekend trip to Hermosa. We loved their grilled fish tacos and service so much, that we went back the following day to have more. We also had shrimp cocktail which was excellent. We just took our son for another quick weekend getaway and again ended up eating at Playa Hermosa twice because it is just that good. The service here is OUTSTANDING. Nicole the manager has a great, upbeat personality and is super knowledgeable about food allergies which I greatly appreciated! Alvaro the server is amazing. Accommodating, attentive, friendly and everything you want in a server. Love the low key vibe of this place and it will always be our first stop when we are in town. This time our son tried and loved the lobster Mac and cheese, and my husband loved the Lobster pasta. We had fish and shrimp tacos and they were AMAZING. I ordered the grilled zucchini which was grilled and caramelized perfectly with just the right amount of balsamic glaze. Drinks are on point too. I had the Texas mule and my hubby enjoyed the DInglehoppers. It was actually my birthday and Alvaro brought out a cheesecake for my boys to put a candle in a sing me happy birthday. There are a lot of choice in Hermosa and on the strand. Some way more expensive but not nearly as good...

We loved our experience here first time visited; so we brought our families here, and I was quite disappointed with the services. The host who seated us literally threw the menus on the table. I mean, the only jobs you have to do are greeting customers, seating them, and giving them menu and you could not do it right ?!? We were there for quite sometimes, and no one really came in to talk to us. The restaurant wasn't busy (we were the only group inside, and there were a couple tables outside) After us, there were another guests came, and they were taken care of before us. We tried to make eye contact with several people, but no one really wanted to come. Finally, there was a really nice person came in, apologized, and took our orders. He was so friendly and sweet, and even got us free dessert and drink. He took care of us so well, and it made the whole dinning experience much better after the earlier incident.
