Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in High Point

We’ve been to several restaurants that would be randomly closed because they don’t have enough workers. How sad is that? That is NOT the case at this Freddy’s. They had plenty of workers and EVERYONE stayed busy. When no one was at the counter to order, they were still a hive of activity. Whether they were cleaning, restocking, cooking etc.. no one stood around staring at their phone or chatting. The manager went next door and came back with 4 pizzas for his crew. They all had on masks so we couldn’t see if they were smiling, but I would hope so. They kept working with anticipation of free pizza on their break.

So instead of, “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” I propose this question:

“Does the manager show his appreciation because they work hard or do they work hard because he shows his appreciation?”

Anyway, it was a very nice thing to witness.

Now the food. We both got the double with cheese and Hubs added bacon. The combo includes a drink and their delicious, super skinny fries. Due to Covid, they no longer have the special Freddy’s Sauce in a pump, but they do give you hermetically sealed pods which is actually nicer. The burgers are truly smashed so you get the crispy lace edges. We also got a chili cheese dog with onions. The beef hotdog was good and was longer than the bun. Sadly, only one side of the bun had been grilled, they needed more chili and they weren’t hot enough to melt the cheese. In the future we’ll stick with the burger and fries. This is a chain burger restaurant that actually makes quality burgers. I loved the Smash Burger style; they nail it every single time. I have gotten the burgers and hot dogs here, and both are good, but I would say that the burgers are clearly the main attraction.

Another delicious item is the ice cream and “concrete” that they offer. The concrete is excellent, as it is very thick ice cream topped with your chosen selection. I think this is some of the best ice cream I have had from a fast-food establishment. It is creamy and rich, and tastes of real cream and ingredients. This is also a very “heavy” ice cream, as I could only eat the child’s size, after a meal, because it was so rich and creamy.

I recommend the Jalapeno fry sauce; it is spicy and creamy, and goes perfectly with their shoestring fries and onion rings, which are also crispy and delicious.

The staff is always kind and friendly, and attentive to your needs.

The only criticism I have of the food is that sometimes they put too much mustard on the burger, it is spilling out of the sides, which is messy and mustard is a strong flavor and it can overpower the wonderful flavor of the burger, if there is to much of it.

This was an AWESOME Freddy's!! My wife ALWAYS looks at reviews BEFORE we ever go just to see what other have suggested. This particular location was right on the money!! Everything she told me she had read about this location is true!!! They have EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAVE EXCELLENT FOOD!!! A lot employees, but all of them were busy!! They were cooking , naturally, but cleaning tables and disinfecting the tables and booths after previous customers have been waited on and cleaned and disinfected the chairs and tables as well as cleaning up. They had an employee asking customers if everything was ok, and of course, it was great!! They Thank you , for coming to their place of business, knowing we could go to others , but chose them instead. Great choice in my book!!! Will be going back when given an opportunity!!!!!!
