Warning , this may be long but definitely needed and deserved. After a very long , tedious, dreadful and unsuccessful day for my wife and I we had took over 3 hours at home while resting to come up with and agree on a dinner location. We decided to stay close to home. 3.4 miles away close. Upon entering there were hardly any seatings available. No worries, we're patient people. The young lady at the counter was a pleasure to chat with while taking our initial requests. We sat after obtaining our beverages and just chatted over our separate dismal day. I decided to walk over and ask the gentleman at the counter a curious question. Tony, was a wonderful communicator and has a very personable attitude. He offered samples of 2 toppings that I'd questioned about. As our meal requests were delivered by him , he doubly checked on us again. Brought us our requested ranch for the delectable onion rings.
In summary , both of our separate days had been beyond horrendous and once we arrived(welcomingly) and requested our meal we felt a sense of calm. The staff and atmosphere is beyond relaxing. No chaos. All is in proper order. Everything was clean. Fresh beverages , hot food , questions answered , not a loud environment at all , all the patrons inside were smiling. It was almost like a catalog advertisement.
To my point... Tony, specifically, through genuine conversation, an open heart and a detailed perception of how a customer should be treated aided a couple of people who'd had the worst of the worst day. He had not a clue of it because he took it all away just by doing his job.
We've only had the privilege of eating at this location 3 times I think but I'm going to change that and start a weekly agenda.
Definitely give them a try. You will not regret it.
Btw, thanks to Tony's suggestions I now do not have to go to east side of Greensboro to get the particular sandwich that I love the most...
Read moreAs per my usual SOP, I poured over the online menu for two days and today was our day! Hubs got the Bacon and Beef burger, cooked medium with cheddar, he said it was delicious, and tots. My sister and I got the Fried Green Tomato BLT with tots and fries and my Bubba Bean got the crispy Chicken Wrap with hot chips. Everything was SO good. We could’ve split the FGTBLT because it was huge! The sourdough was crisp without tearing up the roof of my mouth ergo, perfect. I need to describe the build of this sandwich because I’ve never had another one built with such care. Here’s how it was layered from bottom up: sourdough, garlic aioli, lettuce, lots of crunchy bacon, thick cut crispy fried green tomato, MORE BACON, lettuce, MORE garlic aioli then sourdough. This sandwich had so much crunchy bacon that we ate what dropped out with a fork. I dug in so fast I didn’t take a picture of the wrap but it was really stuffed with chicken. They were generous with all of our sides. the tots are super crunchy and my favorite, Deb’s fries were also crunchy and nicely salted, the hot chips were all crunch, no soggies. Hmmm, I really should mention the staff. We were greeted upon entrance by a very nice girl. They have a menu board but she also offered a large print menu to review. I requested my sourdough to be crisp and Hubs substituted the American cheese for cheddar. She rang it up without error, read it back to us to confirm and then we paid and tipped. I can’t tell you the last time a restaurant read back the order. I really appreciate that, because you aren’t left wondering about your special requests! The kitchen made everything perfectly, it was delivered to our table and we devoured it. This is the perfect place eat before after a movie at the Palladium. Thank you PorterHouse for a great start to our double date!! Health rating is a 94 and both the male and female single bathrooms...

There is plenty of free parking available in the large stripmall with ADA compliant parking spots out front.
We weren't sure of what the experience was going to be at this location, and we were pleasantly surprised with the experience. A combination of sit down restaurant and fast food. This location had the quality of a solid good "mom & pop" restaurant with the pricing of a fast food restaurant. (*Considering the prices for what fast-food burger is now at $9-$10)
The burgers were made with fresh ingredients, and the flavor profile was uniquely good. If you are looking for everything on your burger, try the "Big Lebowski" it truly has EVERYTHING and the kitchen sink on this burger. The sides are equally as amazing, with examples like the fried pickles and the mac and cheese. These are baseline American fare food done at the best level.
The kitchen can make dietary adjustments. I ordered my Philly in a wrap versus a bun, and it came out perfectly perfect!
The service was excellent. Even with a full house, and this is normal for this location, the staff was able to bring and bus my food tray after my meal. This is better than some sit-down restaurants! The food came out as expected with food made to order, and staff was extremely friendly and professional. They were VERY helpful with explaining all of the burger and sides for someone experiencing the restaurant for the first time.
I loved this place so much that I went back the very next day to eat again. It was just as good! And they remembered me from the day before, now that is connecting with your patrons!
Pro-tip: Make room for the apple-pie egg rolls that come with ice cream. Vanilla ice cream that comes with it is next level.
