No air conditioning about 85-90 degrees in store. The drinks coming out of the machine are hot and there is no ice. We ordered a corn beef with olives only. They didn’t have any olives so we ordered it with diced pickles only. They preceded to put everything on it. I took it back and I was told we didn’t ask them not to put everything else on it. We had said corn beef and pickle only 2 times. While they were making the new one they came out and asked if he wanted tomato and lettuce on it so for the 5th time we told them only corn beef and pickles. We waited for 15 minutes and I asked them if they were making another sandwich and they told me no, they had made the sandwich and we didn’t tell them not to put everything on it that usually comes on it. I asked her if she was going to make a special needs young adult go hungry because of her mistake and the response was she would not make him another sandwich. She called her boss so they offered a refund but wouldn’t give it to me. They said I would have to come back in the morning when the manager was there. She was talking with the manager so I asked him to call me or give me his number. The manager gave me a number that doesn’t exist. There was also water all over the floor (puddle) near and under the back tables where we sat. I will never return to this location. My grandson worked at this Firehouse when he was 18 and he took pride in his work. The female employee was rude enough to me to the point I became angry and raised my voice when she said she wouldn’t feed my special needs client, especially after waiting an additional 15 minutes for his food. She said for me to calm down because it was too hot in there!!! I will be contacting corporate offices. The picture below is a picture of my sandwich. Although it was suppose to be cold, the meat was warm and the mayo looked curdled. This was the way it was served to me.

We’ve lived in this area for a decade now and have been regulars to this location. With each new management, this place has gotten worse and worse. I typically ask for a cup of onion when we pick up our order because how they ration out the ingredients. In my picture, you can see they added one slice of onion to each side of the very dry sub. My husband went to pick up our order tonight and asked for a cup of side onion and his request was declined. The worker said they at the end of the night, they are required to take inventory. Inventory down to counting every slice of cheese left. She said she had never worked at a place that required this and she did not want to get fired over extra onion so she declined his request. This review isn’t even over the ridiculousness of having to refuse putting adequate toppings on a 10 dollar medium sub… It’s moreso… what kind of environment are you running here where you are forcing your employees to count slices of cheese per night? You have your workers afraid of giving out slices of onion… fearful that you will retaliate and terminate them? In an economy where eggs are $7 a dozen… people are working in fear. I will be sure to call corporate first thing in the morning because this cannot be a healthy work environment. And stop putting a single slice of onion on a medium sub. That’s utterly ridiculous.

This was our WORST Firehouse experience ever. We eat at FH 2-3 times/month and thankfully this isn’t our home location as we are traveling out of state. The staff were so unprofessional and so slow. We understand Firehouse is naturally a slower spot - it’s not subway fast but the staff that served us on Easter (not sure if it was their ‘B team’ because of the holiday), were slower than molasses - taking over 20 minutes to get our subs when there were only 2 small orders ahead of ours. This location was also very dirty and the person putting our food together had long black hair that was spilling out of her pony tail. She was also coughing while making our sandwiches……….. Once we finally got our food, neither of our subs had tomatoes - which come on the sandwiches we ordered and as you can see photographed there was hardly any meat on one side of the sandwich and they were both cold. Would caution all to reconsider going to this location. By far our worst experience.

4/5/2025 placed online order - received emailed confirmation/pick up time. When arrived at the resturant, received a greeting "we are not taking counter orders, online only" this was shouted from behind the counter. I told the staff that my order was placed online and she asked for my name, she proceeded to tell me she had no knowledge of my order. I showed the paid receipt and the pending transaction on my bank app. She proceed to tell me she couldn't help. She couldn't make my food because she would be accused of stealing and I had to call the number on the wall. She was rude to me and the customer before and after me, who both walked out. They only had 2 employees working and the she was the manager. I called the number on the wall, aswered by a virtual attendant - that instructed me to go to the website and I only had a chat option and would receive a response later. I asked her to write something on a flyer (I picked up off the counter) to prove that I didn't receive my food and she scribbled "The order didn't come through", I asked for her name wrote it on the card. I received an email on Monday (from corporate)asking for my receipt to get the the correct location. I called the High Point location on Tuesday and spoke to that same manager and offered no additional assistance, I asked for the general manager and she gave me Robin in the Winston Salem Store. I contacted Robin and she was extremely helpful. She reached out to the owner and was able to approve my refund. She called me back and successful processed my refund. Thank you Robin! BTW went to Jersey Mike's who was short staffed as well, treated with respect, food was good, employees were pleasant and served food...

I’ve never been so disgusted by such terrible, condescending straight garbage service. The service was so horrible that what I’m about to say is justified. It was two employees a black woman and a black boy. Yes …..boy because clearly he was annoyed that he has to work for a living. Anyway, the moments I stepped in I sense his attitude with a stink look on his face. I’ve never seen a male with a stink look on their face, that’s new to me. Anyway, He got up very slowly from where he was sitting and slowly walked to the register. So I requested for them to hollow out the bread … He and the other employee looked at each other , and she laughed. He replies “we don’t do that here” and shook his head . I said to him I know it’s not part of the menu but it’s a special request and that majority of sandwich shops grant that request. He replied again “we don’t do that here” and shook his head, he then gives his coworker a look. She laughs and says to him “you’re going to make the sandwich”. He replied “ nah, I don’t know how to do that, and I’m not doin it”. I said to the female employee “forget it, keep the sandwich as is but do you mind changing your gloves”. She sucked her teeth, rolled her eyes and threw her hands up. So I said to them “ forget it, you both have the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered.

I asked Mrs. stink attitude to change her gloves because she was touching everything from her hair etc and everything else.

Whoever is the manager of this place, you might want to look into finding replacements because they’re driving away business. The two employees were “working” at approximately 7:30pm...
