Wow!!! How things have changed. For the past few years this particular location has been our go to when it comes to Mario Pizza. I always call in and order for pickup. I order 12 bone in wings tossed in Buffalo sauce and a kid’s ziti with two meatballs.
A few minutes ago I just had the worst customer service experience I’ve had in recent memory. Super Bowl Sunday is always hectic for all restaurants because of increased business. With this in mind I called at about 3:30pm to get an understanding of the turnaround time for call in orders.
During this time it was explained to me that Kid’s portions of Spaghetti and meatballs could not be called in for pickup which I thought was weird because just three weeks prior I had placed the same order. This led me to believe that all I had to do was come in and place the order to go and be good.
I ordered my usual to go and the lady at the register named “Michelle” calmly explained to me that Kid’s menu items were now “dine in only”. I then calmly asked curiously “how long has it been like this”…. Michelle flew of the handle on me. It was otherworldly how fast her kindness turned to indignation (UNPROVOKED!!!). “It’s not up to me!”, “I don’t make the rules!”, “Oh, so now you want the regular sized spaghetti!” …… completely condescending and disrespectful.
I then paid for the food and asked to speak to the manager(OF COURSE!!). He then explained that the rule took effect a couple weeks ago and apologized for the confusion but the damage had already been done.
After years of being a loyal customer, my patronage of all Mario Pizza locations will be coming to an end. I had a previous unsatisfactory experience at The Wendover location and since I had swore by this location til today. There is no way in good conscience that I can do business or recommend anyone do business at a place that would allow employees to speak to customers that way without any kind of reprimand. I would STARVE TO DEATH before I ate from this place again. You literally couldn’t give me the food from this place to eat. Smh.. 😡
UPDATE : They made my daughter’s ziti wrong. They put cheese all over it. My baby only likes marinara over ziti. Didn’t ask for cheese. The sauce was different too. The rest of this regular size going in the trash. The wings were DELICIOUS tho. Fitting for a...
Read moreThis is my favorite pizza joint in the area by far, their quality is well worth their price and food is always cooked well. It does take awhile to get your pizza after you order it, which to me is a plus because you know your pizza is being prepped and cooked there, not a frozen pizza that just needs defrosting, their food is always fresh and so yummy! Nice and helpful staff in my experience as well. The only con I can come up with for this restaurant is that the cooks are not keen on draining vegetables as well as they should. Their Greenhouse pizza is our favorite, although I would say 60 to 75% of the time they don't bother draining the spinach accurately after washing I assume. They give you some excuse for the soggyness blaming the veggies but realistically other pizza joints can easily make veggie pizzas without them being soggy, it's as simple as utilizing the sink drainer and making sure you remove the excess water before adding the ingredient to the pizza. That being said, this is still my favorite pizza place and that is still my favorite pizza. I definitely recommend this place if you want really good pizza, I have not tried their salads or many other things on the menu, we order the fried mushrooms almost every time though and I would DEFINITELY reccomend those, always fresh and SO tasty!! Great quality ingredients here and their drink machine has a pretty large selection compared to most places. I do not drink caffeinated beverages at all, so I really appreciate that they have more than the standard 1 decaffeinated drink that I find in most...
Read moreThis was my second time eating at this restaurant and probably my last. I ordered a 10" pepperoni pizza, a small Greek side salad, and two beverages. The pizza came out hot from the oven, but nothing was brought out with it to serve it onto the paper plates we were given to eat it from, so my guest burned his fingers when he reached for the first slice. It tasted good. The side salad was in a small plastic container and I had to pour it onto a paper plate to eat it. The lettuce was in large pieces, so I had to use the small plastic utensils to cut it up. It had 5 large banana peppers and a lot of olives which seemed disproportionate to the other ingredients and more fitting for a large salad. I did enjoy the flavor of the Greek dressing that was served with the salad. I drank tea, but it tasted soured, so I replaced it with a soda. My guest drank Cheerwine and when I asked if he wanted a refill he said he didn't want it refilled with Cheerwine because it was too syrupy at this restaurant.
The staff was okay. I had two encounters with them, but neither made an effort to be personable. One took my order, the other delivered the food to my table.
There are too many good restaurants in this shopping area to settle for this kind of dining experience. Personally, I'll choose to eat somewhere else...
