This High Point, NC Texas Roadhouse is doing a marvelous job in the kitchen.. service needs improvement though. I will begin by telling you about the food. My steak was just awesome. Possibly the best one I’ve had at a Texas Roadhouse. It was the Sirloin. We all know a lot of times Sirloin is tough. I thought my steak had a good chance or being tough and I wasn’t sure if they would cook the steak correctly. (Medium well) I honestly getting worried about it waiting because I didn’t want to throw my money away. What I received was wonderful! It took a little time. Almost 20 minutes.. but it was well worth the wait. I received a perfect medium well steak and it was so tender you could have cut it with a butter knife! The steak was so tender, in fact, that the texture didn’t seem like a sirloin; it was soft like a filet mignon. What is the High Point Texas Roadhouse doing to make their steaks have such softness? Wet-aging? Whatever it is, it works and it works well. Perhaps other locations should do the same. Along with the melt in your mouth texture, It was packed with flavor! It also had a very pronounced charred smoky taste from the exterior where it had been grilled. It was just yummy! My sweet potato I ordered with my Sirloin was decadent! People say the sweet potato is a side item but I don’t care what people say. I consider it a dessert. It reminds me exactly of sweet potato casserole. I love the taste of the sweet potatoes at Texas Roadhouse. The skin can be leathery but that’s the way most sweet potatoes are. The inside is so creamy, smooth and just delicious even without toppings. The marshmallows have a great brulee on them, it gives them a flavor like smores! Yum! The caramel is very simple and adds a lot to it. You have hints of brown sugar and cinnamon that compliment the sweet potato very well. The only thing the sweet potato at Texas Roadhouse is lacking is some texture.. other than lacking texture, I think the thing is just awesome! May I suggest some sugarcoated pecans? The pecans would offer some texture and I personally feel it would put the sweet potato up even higher! I wish I didn’t have any bad to report but there was some bad. Unfortunately service was not so good. I had 2 different waitresses. I wasn’t given silverware, had to ask for it. Also I wasn’t given rolls until I asked. They forgot my drink. While I was waiting on my steak, I ate my basket of rolls. They only gave me 2 in the first basket. I asked for at least 3 more in the second. The second basket only contained 2 rolls again. As I was starting to eat the second basket, one of the waitresses came by and she said “You finally decided to eat your rolls!” I said actually I have already eaten my first basket and this is my second basket. She told me “I have been watching my tables over here, you’re still on your first basket, so stop lying!” She was talking in a playful way but I could tell she was serious and believed what she was saying. I was certainly not lying! She clearly wasn’t watching her tables very closely at all. I didn’t “finally” decide to eat my rolls. I had been eating them and enjoying them. That’s why I asked for seconds and wanted more than just 2.. Please train the...
Read moreSo went Texas Roadhouse in High Point, NC tonight to celebrate my niece birthday. Everything was great until, my daughter’s steak came out incorrectly twice, she asked for medium well but closer to well and it csme out closer to medium and red. The waitress came back and seen how red it was in the middle while laying on her plate and offered to take it back and said she’d take it off the bill, so my daughter said okay. Well, next thing you know here comes the manager Heather, she says we can’t take this off bill, we rolled the tapes back and we seen you ate half the steak. (Take it, my daughter friend gave her half of her steak to eat, she she wouldn’t have to wait to eat or pick up something after we left the restaurant. So, when the waitress came to take the plate back, her friend took the piece of steak she gave her back off.)
Heather proceeds to say the tape shows half the steak was eaten. I said let me see the tapes then because the she didn’t eat any of it due to how it was cooked. She walks off with an attitude and says it’s still not coming off the bill no way.
Me: turning around, who TF are you talking to, now Heather has disappeared. I go to the front and ask them to bring the manager that just left my table being very rude and disrespectful back out here.
The person at the front, it’s several managers and no one knows which one came to my table. I explained the one with the blonde ponytail and raccoon eyes. Well, lo and behold 10 minutes go by and who walks in the police. Asking me can they talk to me outside.
Me: you sure can. They ask what happened, I explain to them what happened and they said we completely understand, who would want to pay for something that was wrong and they didn’t eat. This sounds more like a civil matter and we don’t need to be here. Wirseccase scenario, you may have to pay for the steak. I said I will not… Then they go talk to the owner, who was called up to the restaurant as well. They come back over and say they were taking the steak off but now I’m banned from Texas Roadhouse.
Okay, why because I asked to see the tapes or because your manager is disrespectful and thinks she can speak or say anything she wants to a customer and wall off, because that isn’t going to fly here, at all. Like I told the officers, when you say something out the way to a paying customer and think it’s okay, and walk off, this is what you get. An angry customer.
After the ordeal with Heather Wood (Manager) at the Texas Roadhouse in High Point, NC, you don’t have to worry about none of the 14 ever patronizing this establishment ever again. I can say or waitress Samantha was great, but when you have terrible management it blows everything else out the window.
I’m still stuck at we rolled the tapes back!!!! GTFOH well roll them back do...
Read moreHi, my name is Christopher, and I'm a frequent reviewer of all things cool and yummy. It was recently that I landed at this Texas Roadhouse across from my place of employment, I have to say the food was as awesome as it smelled, and it was Uber affordable even for a family. The only faux pas was no fault of their's, it was a stuff happens thing. But they not only rose above it they exceeded expectations by providing more than expected under normal circumstances for a circumstance beyond their control. Jazmine the manager went above and beyond to make my experience extremely pleasant. I recommend this establishment with a 5 out of 5, Great food, Exceptional service, Family oriented, and a truly awesome experience. I'm actually really impressed!!! I give this Texas Roadhouse a rating of 6 out of 5 for going above and beyond expectations. Anybody coming here will leave full and extremely satisfied with their experience. I started with Texas red Chilli, and as I supped I listed to local diners who ordered a plethora of dishes, I heard many Omg's, this is so good. The only complaint I heard was that a Karen didn't have enough napkins. So how does one determine how many napkins a Karen needs? Lol. She received a short stack of them with an apology and a smile and she left without complaint 30 minutes later. As I ate I was watching for people sending back inaccurate orders, I didn't see any, which tells me they have a very well trained Cook staff. So in closing, I will again give the Food prep staff an awesome 5 out of 5 because of no returns, and the satisfaction I witnessed as I evaluated this establishment and it's customer service and overall customer satisfaction. Great job Texas Roadhouse. Impressive!!!. I will return to be sure it's always as awesome. I give thanks to both staff and my bar tender whom helped me cleanse my palette in between tastings. Definitely worth both the time and money, an exceptional experience and value. I give this my highest Rating of More bang for your buck. I Thank all staff for letting me evaluate your food and performance unobtrusively. Sincerely, Chris Pratt I will also note that they had no Idea I'm a reviewer that posts nationally in multiple states, I specialize in reviewing places that are not covered my most reviewers and that serve their local communities.. these are just hard working folks that provided me with an Exceptional dining experience. And expected nothing in return. I'm now off to Alaska... let's see if they measure up to High Point, North Carolina.
Side note; the fresh baked rolls with cinnamon sweet butter...
